went and picked up my truck yesterday morning which they gave the same #### truck back and claimed the shop fixed it, air is cooler but still not cold at idle, stuff was gone from the truck and was told if I didnt remove it then its not there....

Anyway they sent loads to me before I even got there, DL called me on my way and said they needed me to take a tcalled load to Montebello ASAP even though it would be well after the appointment time, took me 2 hours to go 30 miles in the horrible traffic, accident on both the 60 and the 405. Got unloaded and went straight over to Carson, CA to pick up a Sony load being tcalled in Phoenix, I made it to Phoenix with 32 minutes on my 14. Only did a little over 400 miles today but the short one is premium so that makes up for it. Its hotter than hell here in Phoenix, still 90 degrees at 3am, would love if they sent me to Oregon or Washington so I can take a break from the heat.

In a hour I will be awake for 24 hours so I think I will sleep well this morning.

idled the truck hoping to stay cool enough since the air was at least cooler than outside by a little, got very little sleep and woke up drenched in sweat with the vents blowing hot air like the heater was on, I said #### this I cant keep going and not get sleep so I went to the shop, they said they cant get to my truck until tomorrow night or monday morning, I said fine keep it and got swift to give me a room for one night so far, I dont make any money sitting around but I cant afford to give up sleep and having a major accident out there or end up dieing from heat exhaustion.
So im at the premier in Tolleson, will at least get some good sleep and I got the ac cranking set to 60 degrees lol, had about 6 hours sleep in the last 2 days, I wasnt about to accept the preplan they sent me.

    South through Oregon yes.
Tcalled load at Sumner, like I said same place I picked it up exactly 21 days ago as a tcall lol. Being's its a holiday weekend, they were some drivers short so volunteered to run a heavy haul reefer over to a Costco store for them. Guy offered hourly rate, I assumed O/O hourly rate of $30 bucks an hour, should have verified, when I got back he said $12 bucks an hour lol. OK I lost money on that run, next time if there is a next time I will negotiate up front for a profitable rate.

But seems running that 'favor' load got me a nice 500 mile run to pick up on a slow Sunday deliver Monday otherwise probably would have been sitting til Monday and this load would have gone to someone else who helped out or knew somebody. The very cool thing about it is that I can bobtail to the shipper. So that means I can Off Duty drive around and take care of some business.

My experience (25 years with the FAA) was that while there were those types floating around they didn't last long. I actually had a female controller try to file sexual harassment charges against me because I routinely turned down her requests (that I might have approved with another controller). When I explained that it was because she was a crappy controller and could not be counted on to do her job the charges went away.

delivered the kroger load in kellr tx in about 45 minutes. went over to pick up the general mills load and guy said they are way beind today. said my load won't be ready till 5am tomorrow. i had an 2300 appt tonite. so called fontana dispatch and he said to go to nearest truck stop. at a pilot 5 miles from shipper. my 10 will be up at 0730. so i told dispatch that and he said its ok. don't have to deliver to loveland till 07/08 before midnite.
