So I went to find out if a shuttle was still running since my truck was still in shop, lady asked for my truck number and then said it showed to give me a different truck and she said she doesnt know why they didnt on Saturday since they have a ton of trucks available and get more every single day. She gave me a list of trucks and said go pick one so I settled on an international prostar, its a lot bigger than the volvo I had and a ton nicer inside and out and best of all the ac blows cold and I am idling getting ready to have a nice night of sleep. There were 3 internationals available and I wanted one of them but the qc mount was all jacked up and I wasnt going to try and get that fixed and the other had a strange smell to it, the one I chose had no mattress on either bunk so I stole one from the other truck. the one I wanted also had the aux plugs for the stereo while this doesnt, guess I can settle on an Fm transmitter, I also like that this one has a cb speaker next to my head.

The clutch is harder to press in but guess I can get used to that, will see how I like the shifting once I can take it out on the road tomorrow.

Camping out in Missoula MT since Monday noon, no loads offered.

A whole bunch of Casting Call trucks spent the night. I was in the Pilot yesterday milling around killing time and could have sworn I saw Ewen Bremner standing in line in front of me. He had his shades on with that signature S eating grin and thick Scottish accent. I guess there must be a movie in the making locally if that was indeed him, I didn't want to bother him even if it was him.

had an interesting day yesterday. after p/u load in loveland, they fueled routed me 287n to i80w. once i got on i-80, hit a strong thunderstorm where i had a hard time seeing the white line due to ot raining so hard. dropped speed down to 25mph by then. then i was about 35 miles from my sleep stop when i blew a trailer tire. i was in a one lane construction zone and only place to pull over was in the left lane/center divider where they had ground down the pavement. lucky they were not working. i had only 1.5 hrs left on clock. took TA roadservice almost 2 hours to get to me. needless to say i drove 38 minutes with a dot violation. wasn't safe or legal to do a ten there. everything was done over qc since i had no phone service. my dl said there was nothing they could do about the violation. so i put in what happened in the remark section of the on duty line on both sides of drive line

As long as it is documented in the remarks section of the log, getting to safe haven, then nothing will be wrong. You also said that you documented everything on the QC. Had it happen to me some time back, but it in the remarks section that had to find safe haven, and never heard a thing about it since. I want to say that it was almost 6 months ago.

still sitting in Phoenix waiting for a load, got the truck running cooling off and might take a nap incase they give me some late night load, today I got my LCQ done, John Kramer asked me about the accident and how it happened, he had me do some backs with a couple other guys taking a backing class then we took a break and he took me on the road to see how I drive and turn, got back to the terminal and he said he doesnt see any issues just be more cautious out there. I told him my driving is fine and my backing is fine as he saw, it was just a mistake being in a hurry in tight quarters and I learnt my lesson about it.

    At the Fontana terminal.....no wifi....WTF???

Picked up my truck yesterday from Silver State (Freigtliner of Las Vegas). Seems that I blew the heater hose off the back of the engine. Warranty.

Grabbed a light weight paper load from Clearwater Paper in North Las Vegas, delivers to Von's @ 1930 tonight. Arrived in Fontana last night, warm, but A LOT cooler than Vegas.

So far only loads offered have been 2 beers loads from Budweiser in Van Nuys to Calexico....no thanks.
Then a preplan for a high value load from South Gate to Fresno...with the 200 mile restriction...again, no thanks.
