My son-in-law ditched Verizon and went to Walmart's straight talk. He works for a company that re-lines water tanks and cooling systems for places like power plants and paper mills. He's away from home almost as much as we are, and miles away from the civilized world. He bought the iPhone (not sure if it was the 4 or 5) but says he's on Verizon's network about 75-80% of the time...he says he has very little issues with coverage or signal...the only drawbacks...prepaid(but unlimited text, talk and data) and he had to pay full retail for the phone. With my luck w/equipment issues (this is my 8th HTC phone in 2 years)...I thought about going that route...if the phone dies...no contract or ETF to switch carriers. I've been w/Verizon forever...and I'm still on the unlimited data plan. I would love to have a new Note 2 or Note 3 (when it comes out this year) but can't afford to ditch unlimited or buy a $700 phone retail. I was going to switch to Sprint, but right now I'm paying $29.95 for unlimited data and $15 for unlimited text/pic's. And since I have home number on the friends & family plan, I never get near our 1400 shared minutes per month. So dropping Verizon and going to Sprint would end up costing too much just to get a fancy new phablet(Samsung's name for the big phone's like the Note 2 & 3) but I was sure tempted to switch.

    #### I hate Walmart and Targets, the Sam's portions always seem to unload fairly quick but the other two ####. Managed to get my two mom and pop's knocked off rather quickly around Columbus and then ran into good old Target and then WM for a total of 16 pallets and about 7 hours of waiting to get them unloaded. Oh well should finish off early tomorrow and have most of the day off at home.

I think it has to do with the starter tires getting more revolutions over time. I've had my truck since it was new. At that time there were 3 miles difference. Now at 86k there is 100 miles difference.

When u get a straight talk u need to look and see what type of phone it is.a cdma is verizon. Cdma-s is sprint and gsm is t mobile it all depends on where u buy your phone depends on what part of country you buy it from walmart. If you buy it online you get what is sold at your home address. Hope that helps some

Your probably right JD, but I was wondering if it could be that the hub is more accurate than the odometer since most speedometers are 2-3 mph off?

I have sent them email after email, filled out the application and sent it back and then when you try to call back, nobody ever answers! Rick Blevins use to work for them before he retired and he lives out here in Indiana where I do. He sold me on Poly long ago and said it was the best company he has ever worked for in 33 years. He said he was going to stay there until he retired and he did.Congraulations on your choice and for finally getting a response from a company that I was never able to.

Did anyone have a problem with taxes at the end of the year with poly's per diem pay? Are we actually getting paid the whole .48 cents are will we owe the irs. Last company, i just did the whole deduction in april. I read an old thread when jd just got on and he was concerned.

Well ended up with one pallet left over that WalMart missed, kind of my fault as well I suppose as I didn't get up in the trailer to check after I pulled out with only 15 minutes left to get out of there and find a parking spot but oh well. Will be headed back out in the morning to repick up the loaded trailer I left in Columbia, SC and take it on to Roanoke, TX for Friday. Luckily the extra pallet just has 10 smaller boxes on it that I will toss in the cab and return to GP. Spent a nice afternoon with the little one blowing up some fireworks. With 1300 miles to knock out over the next two days and no delays on loading etc looks like things will turn out pretty good regardless of the lackluster start with the other load.

The only income that is shown on your W-2 is the mileage pay minus per-diem. When I did 2012 taxes the per-diem I was allowed for days away from home was more than the total per-diem Poly calculated. Which meant I was able to have a few hundred $$$ more in tax deductions. IF... it had been the other way I would have had to calculate the over payment of per-diem as income. From talking to other drivers this is not an issue.

I think the hub is the more accurate of the two.
