I will be waving at Little America as I drive on by going east Steve, take care.

The nature of the once a week 34 has made it virtually unnecessary for my operation unless I am in a no freight market-- 70 hours is still 70 hours, no advantage of taking a 34 to try to capture back some time sooner as I rarely go over 9 hours a day on duty/driving on average. .

Little America, Flagstaff, AZ. What a difference in temp. Was almost 98 and pulled into Flagstaff and down to 78 already. Also due for a 34, and hometime on Saturday for two nights. Not going to do a 34. I am going to test out a theory that I have. As long as bumping the 70 but still picking up hours, then they will not push so hard as if you have a full 70 to use. Coming off home time I will be picking up a bunch of 10's.

sitting at the pilot in Winnemucca, NV

they shortly later offered me a load tcalling in lathop tomorrow morning by 11:15, I wont make it until after noon probably, still got about 350 miles and I cant start driving until about 6:30 in the morning, should I do a macro 22 for a tcall? it doesnt even deliver until the 17th in Richmand but i guess they got the message im tired of sitting on loads giving me a quick tcall.

Low here tonight is supposed to be 59, I havent idled in 3 days since the temps have been nice since leaving Colorado, there was a nice storm that rolled in when I was in Golden picking up the load, was sunny when I left the terminal, got hooked to the load and by the time I drove to the scales at the Miller yard it was pouring like hell, i actually had to change my clothes just from walking to get the paperwork.

Situation like that, I just put the realistic delivery time right in the macro 2/loaded call. If there is a problem someone will get ahold of you. Yes the distance represents 5 hours according to the computer but you have to factor in 30 minutes pretrip and possible 30 minute break plus going down Donner.

Drivers on Tcalls are notoriously late.

Stopped short to get an oil change, waited over 15 minutes in the shop lobby to be helped only to be told they are out of the oil brand I wanted. Fine, need a shower anyway, just staying here in Rawlins. About 850 miles to go to final only about 2 hours to play with the delivery time, will find out tomorrow if there is a delivery window or not. It would be nice to slow the truck down as only 18,000 pounds of product and thus far 7.7 mpg, think it could do much better at 58 miles per hour 1300 rpm sweet spot.

I did the macro 22, what made me late is half my 14 was over when I got the load and then that storm hit and the i25 etc was backed up and people driving 10mph scared of the rain.

Im getting 7.4mpg with a 44k beer load going 62 whenever I can and been going up and down hills leaving colorado and going through Utah etc, seems you should be getting better going 58 and only 18k lbs

No, I've been running 65+ miles per hour since Salt Lake City at 7.7 mpgs. I would like to slow down to 58 lol but the plus 1 time says I need to push max speed.

What is really good for my business partner isn't necessarily good for my business.

yeah indeed, well call and see if you have a window and if you do then slow down some. Im running on Swift's dime so I push the max 62 they allow, I wish I could go 65+, sucks all these trucks passing me all the time.

My week has started on a not-so- high note...

Engine light on dash ( the one that looks like an engine ) came on this morning .
Dropped my load and hit the garage , guy hooks it up to the computer ,
" It'll be late tonight , that's if it doesn't have to go the dealer ".
Which we all know means it will end up at the dealer....

I don't like that half hour break trick. Took one too soon for breakfast now have to take another one, but if I take it (I am) will put me perilously close to delivery time or if I don't take it leaves too many miles to run and have time for live unload.
