Called on a load from VA to CA and was quoted $6100. Called Landstar and the agent agreed on $6300 on the same load. Received the confirmation back with $5300. They said this is what we agreed and couldn't do $6300. No deal.
Hauled a load from Port of Tampa to VA which pays $1580. C H Robinson is offering the same load for $1400. Guess we'll use PGT from now on.
Disgruntled and pissed

i'm in cali. getting the back and forth between company and broker. 5 days now. i really don't have the requirements to pick up this load from the port. was told to call this escort service. but unfortunately they are 800 miles to the north. so here i sit. with no place to park and no escort to pick up this load. and even if i had the load. still no permit to head out on the road.
so, here i sit. with no place to park. waiting for someone to get this ball rolling.
pays good. but not enough for the aggravation ot trying to get this load. in a state i don't really want to be in. and a pickup at a place i really had no intentions of ever going. ANYWHERE in this country. -
thanks for the info

Any time you get a load from Land Trash CH. Freakinson, R&R , UTI, SureWeard, and many many many others you must black list these butt holes both on your phone and your Load board. If you don't get your confirmation with in 15 minutes from the time you hang up with the SOB broker you should look for another load. That load is already Gone to the low life that took it "CUT THROATS" That is why when a broker asks me How Much I would charge to haul it I hang up on the SOB If you are a broker and you need me to give you a rate on a load then you need to go back to school. You are either Double brokering the load or a cheap skunk shipper that dumped his broker trying to save a penny or two And I have no interest in either party they are just a waste of time.If you even suspect that any load is being OPEN 4 BID Dump it and move on to a more Ligit Loads. BIDDING A LOAD IS SCAMMING But I am 100% sure that there are many drivers out here that will tell you NOT TRUE And they are the ones that you will see and hear #####in about cheap FreightBigJls1, LGarrison, mrbmg and 1 other person Thank this.

So when you call a broker, or vise versa, and they give you the rate that they have set on a load, you either take it or hang up on them? Because if you tell then no that is to low, I need to have x.xx, then you are by your own definition bidding on a load. No wonder you are upset, if all you do is take what's given to you and never fight for what you really want. Take some Prozac, call down, and learn how to negotiate. It's part of this business, like it or not.
Signed, yours truely
