I saw that too! Good thing I don't have much hair to mess with.. Surprised how low voltage TV's use. I am anxious to find out what my truck will have as far as power goes. APU or maybe an inverter already installed.

The guy that i went with had his inverter inside underneath the bed, so he had full power in his truck...i recently saw an episode of ice truckers where they guy's heater went out and his windshield was getting so foggy that he couldnt see, what he did was plug in his blowdryer and placed it on the dash board and that did the trick, that was awesome!!

People are lying to you. You'll make a lot more working local than you will working for England or any other major carrier. I'm guessing you're in the Modesto to Fresno area? Right now is the prime time to get on with a local company in the agriculture business. It's harvest season! Best of luck to you.Shyne_E_Star Thanks this.

I can't speak for all companies but there are a few that will hire rookies the company I work for hires guys/gals right out of school. They're averaging anywhere between $600-$800 take home a week. The only downside is during harvest and planting season HOS rules don't apply to us so we'll be working 16 hours a day 7 days a week. Doesn't bother me though. I'm home every night and I make good money.

The company I work for pays the tomato haulers by the load. I think it's 25%. I was talking to one guy and he told me that he usually does pretty good during tomato season. We also haul almonds which pays really well. I'm not sure I want to get into that though. I'm happy pulling my tanks.Shyne_E_Star Thanks this.

Some companies have a limit on the size of inverters that they allow. I use a 1500 watt. Never had an issue with not enough power. You can hold more inside a cooler that opens from the top, than a fridge. I used a $100 cooler for years. Then I decided to get the fancy fridge for my cascadia. Cost $900 plus a whole day down. It worked for 2 weeks. I pulled it out and put my cooler back in.
