Beyond that, WHEN did you pick up your load and WHEN did it deliver? If you picked up in the early AM and it delivered by afternoon well there's not much that can be done about the traffic jam, right? But if you picked up the day before and could have made it to South Jersey BEFORE the day of delivery, maybe just 20 miles away (staying at a rest area overnight for example) then being late for the delivery is basically not excusable no matter how much traffic there was.
So as far as I'm concerned, you haven't provided enough information to make a call.truckinmike1984 and TruthisTreason Thank this. -
Traffic may be unavoidable, but if you are trying to use it as a reason you are late when its rush hour on I95 just outside of Philly, you have to plan at least an extra hour on the safe side. If you didn't then I can see the service failure being valid

Well, one of my service failures was because of an accident that shut down the interstate.
No way to get around, because nothing was moving.
I had sent in the 22 while I was stuck only 4 miles from delivery. I ended up being about 1 hour late.
It was a P&G load.
Sometimes you get screwed.
I've had 2 others in my 2.5 years with Swift.
Both my fault because I overslept. -
I I should've been more clearer. P/u for was for 7am i got there at 655 del time was till 10am. I know i earned myself that service failure because i would've picked up earlier that woulda neva happen, but it did. Just one of those i wanna be able to avoid in the future.

There ya go. Taking responsibility and thoroughly understanding what occurred will help prevent you from having this happen again. And like others have said, don't sweat it, it happens to many of us. One time I forgot to set my alarm. Had it out and ready, just forgot to set it. Almost missed by appointment. Luckily a truck pulling out beside me woke me up that morning.
TruthisTreason and RookieJ1987 Thank this. -
Don't run sears out there period,,, Don't worry I got my first service failure for delivering too early.. Im talking about the sears DC out of PA

Service failor for early del that s bs should have fought it

To bring home the point, they are moving to a fine model to encourage on time deliveries. Late- $500, early $300 to the driver.
