Sounds like level sensor, take it to shop
-
Another Volvo with electrical issues, say it ain't so!
-
So theres no way to bypass it like on the older trucks?
Honestly I'm sick of this truck! If anyone ever asks me how I love my Volvo I'd reply GO BUY ONE! THERE THE BEST TRUCKS IN THE WORLD! Once they start having problem I'd tell them.....SEE HOW I GOT ALL MY GREY HAIR! Jajajaja! -
Try sticking a paper clip in it
S M D Thanks this. -
Mine did the same thing, took it to Volvo and they unplugged the coolant sensor and no more shutting off
-
There is a way to by pass it I was having the same thing on.my ,08 if you don't understand what I'm about to say shoot me a message
Un plug the sensor(bottom side of coolant tank on a d13)
Ur d12 is possibly the same..Take a piece of wire I used speaker wire Thats what I had. Put it from one side loop it to the other tape it up start the truck. Chances are the code will still be there but it Wont shut the truck off. It'll run fine.
Mine Broke down in Reno kept shutting off. So after I did that"last option" drove it to Sacramento no issues. -
Changed the sensor......seems to be working fine!
I tried bypassing it with a wire & it would shut off! -
Good. Gotta love our old u.s express gold mines eh?

When you're driving down the road and your passenger window rolls downs on it's own, and it will, jam a paperclip in the switch to hold it in the up position. Their good riding trucks but they do have issues like in your case....a cheap sensor causing you grief and lost income.
