Why not just disconnect the switch on the passenger side instead?

I kind of figured that was common knowledge. At 0200 in a rainstorm on I-40 in a construction zone. You don't want to be pulling switches and disconnecting wires on the shoulder of the road. Stick a paper clip in it and take care of it later.

Well in that situation I agree. I was curious if it disconnected some kind of loop rendering the drivers side control inactive. Thank you for the reply.

    Exactly,
Just make sure you have coolant and unplug from where it connects by the coolant fill cap.
Also, make sure you have it tucked out of the way so it dose not get stuck in fan or belt.
