The T660s are autos. I haven't seen any others.

Some of the Pete 387's are automatic. More trouble than its worth, Was is one for couple of weeks, while in Baltimore at UPS, went to back up to trailer and do tug test, trans wouldnt engage or anything. Got towed out of there by Ultimate Towing to Pete dealer and it ended up being a break light switch that went out and caused the issue. Never heard of such a thing. Fun times

The autos are very far and few now. Some older KW's and Pete's. Won't be much longer until they are all gone.

I'm back in a "mini-orientation" now in GP. Coming back after a few months on the "injured-reserve" list. Spent 2 hrs doing training modules on a computer, another couple of hours in orientation class watching videos. Drivers complaining about being in the shop for days. After my time with the safety crew, I was sent to operations where, to no surprise, no one had told the boss a driver was coming back after surgery, so no truck, go hang at the hotel and come back in the morning to see about a truck. I feel a rental-car truck recovery mission being laid-on...

They are starting a system to where your FM schedules shop visits. Seems its still.not stopping drivers from walking in without approval. They shouldn't be surprised for the long wait times

That sounds like a pretty good idea. I hope they can execute it. I see the GP now has a "Safety Lane" next to the shop. Looks like it's set up to do quick stuff, like tires. A PM I can see a FM scheduling, then advise the driver. It's the unscheduled breakdown items that they may not allow to be fixed OTR and get you to a company shop.
I had an unplanned conversation with Todd Smith while he was driving the yard in his SUV. I gave him a quick, in the nutshell SITREP. Back from knee surgery/safety&HOS training/no truck. An hour late the ops boss comes out and tells me I have a truck and btw, can you tell me about your conversation with MY President? He got the idea that I'd gone over his head to whine to the boss. I explained to him how the conversation took place, and that no, I was not the driver that goes running to throw someone under the bus. I'm hoping we got off to a good working relationship, despite the misunderstanding.
He got us a condo Pete, automatic, with peoplenet. It's the same motor/trans that I had in the KW, just a way different layout. We still needed to get our car home, so the northbound load we got is going to Denver for Monday night. Nice length-of-haul.
Also, I discovered that the peoplenet is iffy. No GPS, so it popped up a warning about inaccurate mileage, so paper-logs are the new order of the day...

.42 cents per mile? LIEEEEES! they start everyone at .33

i just left grand prairie today. what a waste of 4 days.

hotel was nice, ladies were nice at the office, safety man is flakey, but any how

    - no sliding pay scale . you run a 150 mile load, you get .33 less than Fifty bucks.

    - Sh1tty automatic transmissions take off in 1st gear! who the Hell takes off in 1st ?

    - no empty trailers on yard. all out of service or sold. night dispatch told me , 'yeah, we can't go pulling them from customers no more,mmmk.... you just gotta sit out there and watch for one, mmmk'''. douche.

they gave me an international out of the ''ready line'' that was not ''ready'' . air pressure leaks to below 30 in like just an hour or two after shutting engine off.

1st load they tried to send me on. last night. dead head from terminal to fort worth. supposed to pick up bottle water. low-paying load to houston. 19 empty. 261 loaded. i check in. shipping. they say, no this load goes to shreveport. wtf. i call night dispatch. they say we aren't taking this load to shreveport if the load dispatch says houston. and the man tells me come back to the yard. so i did. got back at midnight. bout 60 miles round trip and 5 hours for nothing. then my d.m. has no clue, he gets to work this morning, sends free form.. . "durrrrrrr did the load get canceled?" w t f can u not read all these transmissions from night before i was sending on QC? freak. any how he wouldn't pay me for the attempt. so i was like F' this. I had my pickup truck in lot. i packed my shiiit back to my Ford and came home. I knew better than to F with any co. affiliated with US X . I knew better, man.

Its the old.Link.reincarnated when Tod Smith was CEO. Link.was crappy till.he left and started improving. Pretty bad when.you get a better CEO and end.up back.with the old one. That safety lane.is.a freaking joke. Half the time its close sec the other times they don't even inspect anything.just ask.if there is anything wrong or slap.a sticker on it if the trailer is.sold.
