I can't tell if you have a weird sense of humor giving a subtle warning or just crazy, lol. I'd love to make that first year grocery hauling money, but I'm not willing to risk a serious back injury, I'm too young for disability, lol.

Several companies do Walmart dedicated. Greatwide, Schneider, someone said Prime has one of those accounts, but not sure if that's correct. Those accounts are drop & hook or deliver to Walmart & they pull the stuff off with a pallet jack. K-Mart, Target, also have accounts like that.

My back was bad to begin with. I unload around 15,000 lbs with a hand cart mon-fri yet. So the work is not too bad. Keeps me in shape :D

Walmart dedicateds tend to suck pretty bad, they have really strict rules, like they wont let owner ops take their own trucks home, or let company drivers live out of their trucks. We have a few of their accounts, and you see their off duty owner ops lined up in the DC. The stores will not take you early, and they do things like charge you to unload their own cargo.
I have done dedicated for Target, Bass Pro, and Masterbrand, as well as taken loads for a few others like Officemax and Highland farms, but Walmart has insanely strict rules. Nobody else had rules like that. And everyone else the companies were really friendly and worked WITH the drivers, while Walmart still has these big bulletproof glass windows you talk through, and people who dont give a crap about anybody. The other dedicated accounts were pretty decent, they eventually got to know the drivers and the appointment times were much better.

JB has one of the Southeast DCs, I think SC, and Werner has the madison Alabama account. There is one in GA, but Im not sure who has that one.

Werner has a few Home Depot accounts that require hazmat, but they are easier to get onto. Accounts like Bass Pro and Target are quite hard to get onto.

Werner has a bunch of Dollar General and Family dollar accounts, very good way to start for someone who is coming from a physical job. Like construction workers or a lot of military members would do well. Home weekly or more, and the pay is really good for newbs. I never went because I got lucky with the other accounts. I did masterbrand cabinets for some time, which is the hardest account, no special equipment, and you have to unload cabinets stacked to the roof and often without a dock, so I know a little about hand unload. If you are into anything physical, and want to make $900-1000 a week off the bat, dollar general or family dollar is the way. But if you give up, 48 state is pretty slow and pays 26cpm, while regional pays the same, but will max your hours.

And even tho this is off topic, everyone remember that dispatchers have to start somewhere too, and they are gonna start on 48 state, not on some account that the company values. Regionals are a bit better, even if they are new, because they kinda know the area a bit. Dedicated are almost always good, and TCU/reefer is usually a good bet because they cant trust new dispatchers with perishable loads, so the most experienced dispatchers are usually assigned TCU.
I cant say it enough, if you dont like a 48 state dispatcher, or if they make mistakes all the time, dont give up. You have get experience, and so do dispatchers. Just aim for the dedicated...

And always keep your eye out for a city you might want to move to.
