OK I am starting at USA Truck next week and wondering what all this talk about "Fuel Solutions" is about???
So does it mean if I want to take my 30min. D.O.T. break and get a shower at Flying J and add 50 gallon of fuel so that I have a FREE shower, I can't?

its a program USA Truck uses that is suppose to find the cheapest place on your route to get fuel at
Gold_Miner Thanks this. -
I have an app that does that : )
-
if fueling U must show 15min. or so on duty not truckn then the 30 min break to get clean up time
Gold_Miner Thanks this. -
Mee too... 8 out of 10 times I find fuel a lot cheaper than at the place they give me. And my. Place is always on route, not off route. The fuel solution program sucks.Gold_Miner Thanks this.

Or 5-8 minutes for fuel on elogs. I'm one of the few with elogs and I will admit the 5-8 minute fuel stops are nice. And since I'm on peoplenet instead of Qualcomm I dont get fuel solutions. I'm told to use my best judgement. I got fuel in indiana for $3.55 tge other day. I topped off again the next day when I came back thru. Ill stop at the lives in conneut, OH (sp?) On my way to new york tomorrow. Ohio is way cheaper than NY. Ill be stuck getting a little in NY on the way out most likely. Ill get the minimum I need though.
Gold_Miner Thanks this. -
I stop at that Loves in Conneaut, Oh all the time lately. Run up to Ct, then stop there again to fuel on the way back. Gotta remember, each time you fuel there is an additional charge to cover the cost of using. Com-Data. Something that the fuel solution program isn't able to calculate. That charge needs to be included in the total fuel cost picture too. Eliminating one extra fuel stop saves you time and the company money.Gold_Miner Thanks this.

So do they give you a list or something? Or do they give you a route you have to follow and tell you the place to stop and get fuel on that route?
Both of them seem odd to me... -
They give you both the route and the fuel stops.
Something else the fuel solution program doesn't think about is your weight. If you are heavy why would you take I88 thru the mountain instead of I90 which is amost flat. Granted, the scenery is better thru the mountains and there is no toll. But the cost and time far is still lower taking I90 when you are heavy.Weeman7898 and Gold_Miner Thank this. -
Large companies do not pay pump price.Just because the TA says say $3.88 and next door at the Pilot says $3.80 doesn't mean its the cheapest for USA.The TA may be giving them a large discount and in actuality the TA price to USA is more like $3.67.They get bulk discounts so they'll route you to help their bottom line on fuel costs.
Gold_Miner and Thomas0810 Thank this.
