KS ... Have home time planned for Monday in CA ... Woke up to a preplan going to NE, didn't even look at the QC and just went back to bed ... get another message a back up to UT ... now I'm intrigued. Check out the QC 1 trip, short 3 drop out of Denver through KS to NE ... Second trip from NE to UT, 2 drops. While I'm looking at the trips, 3rd trip comes in, UT to CA for Monday morning - 3 trips, stacked all the way to CA for Monday and home time ... taking at least 10 days off over Labor Day.

Even Wal-Mart can't dispatch you if your truck is in shop status ...

    Oh did not know that

So I drove into walmart and got my load, did my macro 51 and then get a message from the DM handling the fleet saying im on satefy hold because my truck is due for a service, why am I not told this stuff before getting put on hold? *sigh*
He said he cant build my order and dispatch me but to go deliver the load anyway then head to the terminal close to the destination.
I then get a call from Walmart that they made changes to my trip and added a backhaul picking up a loaded trailer of pallets and taking them to Pasco, WA on my way back. This load isnt supposed to deliver until tomorrow at 1600 but I can drop it tonight, maybe the pallet load will have an extra day too and I wont have to worry about stopping at the terminal. I need to see about drive tires too, everytime I try they say they are out of tires at every terminal. Called the troutdale one last night and they were out too.

Here at the Boise Stage Stop. Got off the road just in time. Was watching the weather a little south and it was not looking good. Got parked and it hit. Some heavy winds, and with this 9500 lbs, would not have been fun on the open Interstate. Surprising, the routing on this load, only 5 mile over the paid miles.

wouldn't think shredded paper be so heavy. they put 32 bales and went to weigh and its 80920 lbs. went back and the took 2 bales off the back.com. i slid trailer tandem all the way forward cause the drives were over too. reweighed and all is good. would've drove 120 miles more if all was good the first time, but have only 50 minutes left when i got back to reweigh. still be able to make it to hasley or tomorrow nite if traffic not too bad

oh yeah paper adds up quick for weight, even toilet paper gets some weight for a tight full load, not quite as much as the other paper but still surprising.

Anyway got to Lynnwood and dropped my trailer then went and asked the dock if the pallet load was ready and he just laughed at me and said come back at 1am, its 1800 and you want me to come back at 1am? Called Walmart and the dispatch was a bit unhappy and told me go get my B service and asked if I could return at 1am, i said nope my 14 will end way before then but I could probably get it by noon tomorrow if things go well at the shop and he said ok just keep them updated. Drove to Sumner to be told they wont do my B service tonight but I could try at 7am tomorrow and there is one ahead of me, no idea about tires though..... I dont know if I should wait and try to get my tires and tell Walmart I have to be later to get the trailer or I just put off tires once again and just head out once the B service is done. Getting that extra load made the situation a bit more stressful and tough to decide but I know at least one tire is very close to failing an inspection if it doesnt already.

Got popped for log violations last week in a hand audit. I had emptied out at this place, no empty trailers so bobtailed off duty driving to get the next empty. Wasn't under dispatch yet so thought it was OK. Picked up next load time ran out so hit off duty driving and slow rolled out the gate to the street. Satellite tattled that the truck moved when it shouldn't have. Then there was another load I dropped and emptied out around midnight, I already knew the nearby truckstop was full up as I had cruised through it before delivery so just bobtailed off duty driving out of the customer to the nearby strip mall. Got up 8 hours later and bobtailed back to that truckstop off duty driving. All of these don't meet Swift's requirement for going from Point A to Point B back to Point A. So what they do is move them down from line 1 to line 3 and a violation occurs. Some of them were 'egregious' violations, ie. long after 3 hours since the 14 had expired.

I asked Safety about other scenarios like sometimes I might be passing a terminal and come in, drop the dispatched load and bobtail out off duty driving for a steak dinner and easy parking. He said 'no go' on that as well.

So these violations just got me 4 points on the Swift RA (Risk Analysis). Be careful out there, they are getting really strict.

Edit: forgot to mention, they got an IMDS (Is My Driving Safe) report that I ran someone off the road 2 months ago. I'm just hearing about this now? I asked for video proof, Safety is researching now.
