We did a 2 stopper Walmart last night from Los Lunas NM to El Paso TX. Abby and I had done that same run to those same stores twice before. It is curious to me that those 2 stores always get doled out to the OTR drivers instead of the Walmart drivers. If I had to guess I would surmise that it is because it is so hard to get into the lots to get back to the docks. The curbs are rubber black and the traffic in there will not give you an inch. Abby likes those stores because there are lots of kitties to go chasing after at both locations.
Anyway, spent the night at the terminal picked up a tcall going to Tulsa OK area and sometime in the night my phone chirped and let me know of another load picking up nearby Tulsa going to Florida. Trip planned it, asked for all the pickup and delivery windows, no static for once, they gave me what I asked for and I accepted.
My only complaint was when picking up the tcall in El Paso, there was no scale weight ticket with it. Rolled around back to the terminal scale-- 11,900-32,000-35,000. So I got em evened out to the 33's then had to waste another half hour going to the Cat scale and paying $10 bucks. It's all good, still on schedule and even had time to stop for a car load of ladies with a flat tire waving me down. They had a jack but not crank handle for it nor any lugnut wrench. Hated to leave them there but there was nothing I could do.
Good night from...

Blown EGR cooler, brought to you courtesy of your wonderful Swift Shop ... who's practice of filling the cooling reservoir to the top cold, over pressurizes and blows the EGR eventually.
It's to get the OTR drivers out of Albuquerque, where there is a dearth of freight and to El Paso where the is plenty of freight. And you know to fuel at the Wal Mart terminal ... almost always the cheapest fuel in the area by .10 or more.
Bobbing weaving and seizing opportunities ... Still delivering on my original 3rd load tomorrow, for home time, on the 3 load stack they gave me from Denver. But managed 2 more loads and 400 more miles. -
everytime I go to Albuquerque so far they send me out with a load of tires to CA, 3 times now to be exact which all ended up getting tcalled in Mira Loma, last time was because delivery was on Saturday and they ended up being closed on the weekend so I drove there for nothing...

Green Bay, WI.
I was able to grab an mt in Beaver Dam, get to my pick up 45 minutes early, get the load scaled and parked for the day with 35 minutes remaining o my 70.
All in all a good morning.
Heading to Romeoville tomorrow with a 1200 live unload.
I'll probably leave here at 0300 or so to beat the rush hour traffic through Milwaukee, then stop somewhere in between to avoid the Chicago area morning traffic.
It'll burn up my 14, but it seems better than sitting in traffic. -
Faribault MN. All of 1.5 hours on my 70, so was not going to attempt to get to the final tonight, Kohls in Shokopee. Del at 0500, do not be late, do not del early. Service failure if attempt to deliver early. Then a pplan that picks up in Northfield, MN to del in Perrysburg, OH on Weds at 1300.

sitting at a large turnout near Weed, CA
I made a nice mistake tonight, stopped at the Pilot near Klamath falls, when leaving I turned right at the exit to find myself at a dead end and nowhere to turn around and all I said was "oh sheet" I backed all the way to the entrance of the pilot but trucks kept coming everytime I was going to try and blind myself into the lot and turn around, I got out and went and asked a driver standing next to his truck if he could spot me, he said I was the 2nd truck he watched do it, backed up far enough just to pull back into the lot then turned around. As I was leaving again I see a CRST truck starting to turn the same way and I kept yelling at him on the cb to not turn there but his cb wasnt on or he didnt listen...guess they need a sign not to turn right for us idiots lol. The direction points towards the entrance off the 97 so it seemed like a good way to go.... -
