How did he wind up under the bridge?

 

I dispatched for someone on maternity leave. WOW! the things that drivers do and don't do. I saw a different side of this industry. I was in shocked by how stooopid a lot of these drivers are. I totally lost respect to a lot drivers I thought I knew. It paints a bad picture for the people that respect this industry.

I see why this CRST dispatcher did what he/she did with in situation. The trucking company only knows you by your truck number. It sucks but its the truth.

I had a truckers wife call me scarred and worried because her husband did not make it home when he said he would be. Long story short I sent a driver in the area to look for his truck at the truck stops in the area of his last location. I woke up the transportation manager to let him know of the emergency. Come to find out he had another gf on the side. We all lost respect for him. If he had a heart attack in that truck we all would think he was just out somewhere getting some tail.

this is a sad story but it's the truth about the trucking industry.

I wish this driver and his family the best.

Gee kind of fits with SRT thread about the driver that passed on the road and the company would not help at all. There was also a Knight thread about a driver that passed and his wife couldn't get help to find him either. Turned out he died on the yard and no one checked up on him for days. What a sad world we live in when companies only care about their equipment and the freight they are hauling.

 

Where was his truck in relation to where he was found? He left his truck without his wallet? I never get out ofy truck without mine.

And what caused his full kidney failure? Kidneys rarely just shut down on their own.

Not calling anyone a liar but something doesn't smell kosher.

 

Kidney failure can be caused by many many things. Diabetes, bacteria, viral infection, prescription drugs of all kinds, over the counter drugs, food allergies, genetics, etc... failure can cause vertigo, amnesia, dementia, weakness, death just to name a few things. In my 8 years of being an EMT I saw this many times. People of all walks of life ignore the signs of disease and illnesses. He could have been sitting in the truck when he succumbed to dementia to to the failyre and rising bidy temp and bp. He gets out and walks off not knowingly doing so. Collapsing under the bridge. He would not have grabbed his id or wallet on his aay out of the truck. Heck, I've picked up a naked woman walking down the highway because her insulin levels and bp went out of wack and her kidneys were shutting down. Police called for us to get her. She almost died. This man is lucky to be alive.

And people wonder why the DOT is so hard on diabetics and those with bp issues. Imagine if he had been driving on the interstate when his kidneys started shutting down.

 

I'm diabetic and I know about the hazards. I think if this man was diabetic and to the point of kidney failure there's no way he'd be medically certifiable, at least not on the two year plan.

Pretty sure he wasn't parked at the love's as there is never any parking at that dump.

I wasn't implying he was diabetic. I just used that example. Its the easiest for most people to understand. Kidney failure can be caused by numerous things. From an allergy to disease. Foods drugs etc. If he had a heat stroke it would explain all his issues in the article. Or dehydration. Anyone can have those happen.

 

A simple cold could have started a sequence of events that eventually spiraled into kidney failure. It's not so difficult to believe.
