Looking for information, from the first party, as to Heartlands pay scale, benefits, requirements, etc.

Presently I have a application with them and wish to know the straight skinny about them and all associated with them. Thanks.:biggrin_25510:

They require 1 year OTR, pay is according to experience and if you drive regional or system or dedicated. NE pays .03-.04 cent more per mile, hazmat endorment brings extra. Benefits, depend on what you get we pay $135. per week, that's family health, dental, disability insurance and life ins. on 3 people.

I have been with Heartland Express for over 4 1/2 years and can honestly say it is the best trucking job I have had. I previously drove for a couple smaller companies (less than 100 trucks) for a total of 8+ years. Heartland Express has close to 3,000 trucks in their fleet and you can choose a regional terminal or run "the system", which lets you see more of the country but keeps you out for a longer duration. One good thing is they will pay you for your prior experience so you can climb to the top of their pay scale if you have over 7 years experience OTR. They have several "special" accounts that require on time pickup and deliveries, so if you can run on schedule and leave "them pinball games" alone, you will do fine. Much of the freight is drop & hook so waiting is kept to a minimum most of the time. Heartland provides late model equipment, and have dedicated guys in the shop to handle any problems that pop up. I have found that dispatch is willing to work with you if you are straight with them on what you need. Not a perfect job, but pretty close. The paycheck hits the bank on time every time and has always been accurate. On the negative side: they do require you to clean out your truck if you take a week off for vacation as they want to keep the equipment moving and earning money. They are family-owned, and publicly-traded (on Nasdaq) and I do not hesitate in reccomending that you call them up if you have over 1 year OTR experience and are looking to make a change for the better! My boyfriend has been with this company a little over a week and really likes it so far. They keep him running and send him home to get in a 34 hour reset. He was a little disappointed he didn't get two full days but it's great that they are keeping him busy!

Heartland can't be good. In fact, they can be and will be very bad for you, both mentally and financially. They will ruin your life by contacting your prospective employers; they will use a phone system, so there is no record any court can request---about all their deceptiveness, lies, and their history of putting you in between while they have their own fights from within. Everybody should know that fleet managers respond to their big bosses---Who in turn have boards to assess where a fleet manager is. If a fleet manager falls under a certain percentage, he will be "terminated" Something like what the mafia does. Create as much chaos as possible between the driver and the fleet manager, to get rid of both. The Operations Dept. will get rid of the fleet manager, and HR., will get rid of the driver, along with HR. Trust me, they will find anything and everything possible to get rid you. No matter how good a driver you may For GOD's sake, don't allow yourself to be taken into their traps. They have many of those. Those traps are like the devil. Worst than cocaine. Once they destroy your life, it will be an uphill battle or war......to get your life back. At least, with cocaine you have control of your own self. You can at least go to therapy or to AAA, or to clean yourself in a facility. Not with Heartland Express. With them (Heartland Express) you are at their mercy.

You know, after reading several of your posts regarding Heartland Express, they must have been relieved to see the door hit your backside.

    Let the reader use discernment.
