With the new pay packages, the per-diem is forced and they take .02 or .03 cpm off the top for themselves. Great scam....

Well if you dont like it or the company why still drive for them? I do per diem by my choice so it being mandatory doesn't bother me.

Lol I just know if I had the same issues or complaints I would move on is all lol. You live in a good area for most company hiring areas. Ive been here since 2010...it isnt all bad. GP only got this bad since the merger. People in the office say Jax drivers get good miles and loads out west because most GP drivers are picky and complain about running certain areas and deny loads. Which contrary to popular belief you can do and keep your job...obviously since I am still here Lol. But living where you live thats why you cant get put on the jax running boards unless its a dire situation. -
I've been here since Feb 2012 and the poor performance of GP ops has stayed the same. The shop is still crap. I've fought to get shipped to JAX op-area just to get away from GP and get more miles. There's no lack of OTR hiring here, but at 50, I'm more cautious and due a lot more research before making a move than 20 yrs ago. I'm scoping for my last, best gig ya know?
I miss refrigerated. I miss running out west, and my Wife wants out of OK and to relocate to the west. -
Have you looked into Freymiller? They are out of OK and run west in a refrigerated box! They also have their trucks equipped with Apu's. Nice trucks from what Ive seen.

I have, and talked to them a few months ago. .33mi/3wks out. We are not quite 100% empty-nesters...yet. We try not to be out longer than 2wks, but the last 2 times with Arnold turned into 3wks due to FM malfunction.
Talking to Giltner & Holland this week. Too many of the outfits I've talked to are starting off experienced drivers at no more than .36 and quite a few think .33 & .34 is swell too... -
Have you talked to Gordon Trucking out of Pacific, WA. They have dry van and refrigerated. They start out based on experience they can verify. The run otr and regional in both fleets. Freymiller told me they base starting pay off your current length of tenure at current company.

hey guys. I am suppose to go to orientation Monday in grand prarie. I have 10 yrs exp. tell me honestly. will I get .40 cpm and 2500-3000 miles a week like recruiter said. is it really worth it?
-
No, you won't. You may get .40mi, but you will be forced to accept the company per-diem scam. They take .03mi away from you for no justifiable reason. Miles? Arnold considers 2100mi to be a normal week. Dave Rasmussen, VP of ops told me f2f that I would NOT get the 10K mi/mo I consider normal.
Please read my previous Arnold posts for beaucoup intel with no bovine scatology added....
