Potentially, this could be the way of the future, part-time truck drivers vs. full time truck drivers who spend weeks, if not months, out on the road. Potentially, it could catch on to more trucking companies trying to cut down on costs.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

It's one truck shared by two drivers. The company doesn't care whose driving it, as long it's moving. Don't waste your time with Knight. Between their college boy dispatchers, stupid retarded customers, and the fact that you will run ANY pos truck on the yard, you won't be maximizing your earning potential. I would strongly recommend against any company that doesn't assign you and a other driver a truck. You will take care of it, know it inside and out, and you and the other driver can leave basic items in it like a CB, satellite radio, fridge, and tools. Much more simple that way.

most of the mega fleets have something like a 7 on 7 off fleet.
mje Thanks this. -
transport america also offers 7 on 7 off. to the best of my knowledge its just ta, knight and roehl, I could be wrong though
-
I am also considering 7 on 7off. I would be doing it to get experience if I cant find a local job without experience. I would rather do 2 years of 7 on 7 off for less money then 1 year of basicaly never being with my family.

Same here, I am looking closely at roehl to get my CDL n work with them. Even the 14 on 7 off seems like a good dealmje Thanks this.
-
yea they seem to have the best program, but I have heard they have higher standards to get into their program than other enrty leval compinies. I havent contacted them yet, still holding hope for a local driving job for a little while. If you go through with it, let me know how it goes

Thanks for the help, There are so many companies out there its hard knowing what company offers what.

Schneider has 7 or 14 on 7 off. Remember seeing it in a newsletter or qualcomm msg recently. If I could swing it money wise Id be all for it. Maybe when the OL finishes nursing school. I enjoy my job, but I miss my motorcycle.
Oh and my girlfriend. I miss her too
Squad27 Thanks this.
