have seen fired drivers everytime i am unfortunate enough to make it through the yard ......and they are allways given a buss ticket and a ride to the bus station .....lately they been cracking down on incidents from what i could see but as a company that hires and trains students that washout process is to be expected most new drivers have no clue what they are getting in to

I had a similar situation, I was getting loads going to wherever it was snowing last year, I went to Wisconsin got caught in the storm called Draco, then for Christmas they sent me to Dallas, it snowed there, then from there to north Ark to p/u a load going to Maryland, snow, snow ,snow. Had to pull off the road several times, wasn't making money. When I got to Maryland they gave me a check for $200.00 for the whole week, now mind you I had the transflo software installed on my laptop, attached my flatbed scanner to it to turn in all my paperwork on time. I'd been sleeping in the truck for the whole 5 months I worked for SRT, never earning enough to get my own place, only enough to feed myself while on the road. When I got to Maryland they wanted to send me a load going to Denver, straight over I-70 and again covered in snow. I snapped, turned down the load and resigned on the spot. Then while talking to another driver, told him the situation, he reminded me of the truck abandonment clause and how it could mess up my chances to get another job. So I made them put it in writing on the qualcomm that they would not charge me with an abandonment because they told me to leave the truck at the truck stop and they were sending a tow truck to take it back to Texarkana.

I just recently got my DAC report, it says I resigned, no truck abandonment is listed but next to the work record, they put: Unauthorized Location w/o notice.

That's probably because when they told me the tow truck was coming, they said he's gonna be there in 5 to 10 minutes, I replied that it wasn't enough time to pack up my stuff and they responded like they didn't care so I drove the truck from the Flying J to the Petro on the other side of the interstate, packed up everything and then drove the truck back to the flying j where I told them the truck would be parked. That was in the morning when the dispatch came to work. Now I can understand them being pissed off for me refusing a load, but that's no reason not to give me time to pack up my stuff, some of my stuff had to be left because Greyhound charges extra for more than two bags and I already had 4. I'm pissed off that I wasn't making the kind of money I needed to accomplish my goals. Yeah they told me about the forced dispatch, but their version of forced dispatch is different from any other company I ever worked for.

At other companies, they ask you in Orientation whether you want to do regional, local, harbor, inter-modal or OTR. If you say you wanna do OTR, they're not gonna give you an inter-modal run, not at SRT, forced dispatch means forced dispatch and that includes talking to you like you're a flunkie/slave if they so choose. One time I had a load assigned to me, talked about it with my dispatcher, we both agreed I didn't have the hours to do the load, so I was told to do a 34 hour restart, 21 hours later, another dispatcher called me on the phone and told me I had to roll on that load with the hours I gained at midnight. I told her my dispatcher and I agreed to do a 34 hour restart and she tells me that she's gonna tell the "powers that be" that I refused a load. We argued about it for a while, then I just told her, do whatever you want and hung up on her. Then I got on the qualcomm and sent her a message saying, if the trip planners had wanted me to roll with the hours I gained at midnight, why didn't I get a message to that effect last night before I went to bed? Then she sends a message back that I've been unassigned from the load.

The moral to this story is, don't argue on the phone with dispatch because they know they can say anything and it's basically your word against theirs, that's why I told her to do whatever she wanted and hung up on her, put these troublesome conversations on the qualcomm and you have a recording of what was said and who you chatted with. I've heard that you can contact qualcomm corp in San Diego, Ca. and get transcripts of any conversation you've had while in the truck to prove your point if you have to. I'm just about ready to try that, can anybody give me any insight on how to do this?

I like to think I can connect more than 2 dot together but I must admit I am perplexed by that statement so ,
could you enlighten me on what would make you think that just because someone is unhappy with a co. that in
turn makes them unable to back a truck up without hitting the one sitting next to the spot they are aiming for ? ? ?
Seriously , I just left SRT in good standing ( 2 week notice , returned truck that was clean etc. ) but somehow I
just don't see how that by doing that you ( or anyone else ) is any safer in a truck stop now than you were when I was
    driving for them .

Did the OP ever state the reason he was terminated? Had to skip a lot after seeing the thread go left.
