They haven't but if you've been with USA for awhile you notice the longer hauls to places like Laredo go mainly to those who are paid less per mile because the loads pay less. This isn't just true at USA but at many companies because it makes sense.
Shorter hauls generally pay more per mile to the company. -
I somewhat agree with you on that. There's at least a real possibility of it but we're talking about pennies, so maybe and maybe not. I still get my share of the longer runs but I do occasionally question some of the dispatches. Just a short time ago I took a load to Colonial Heights out of Baldwinsville and was sent to reloaded at Hill Phoenix in Chester and despite being the 1st truck available and the 1st out of several other trucks to the shipper I still got the shorter load. I got a 1200 mile load while all the other trucks got 2500+ mile loads and It even took one of the driver's the better part of 30 minutes to get his truck in the dock despite having 40 acres of room. I questioned why I had received the worst out of the loads and was basically told that the loads got drawn from a hat, although they didn't use those exact words. I didn't buy it so I argued with them on it and got backed up on a good reload.

You're talking about pennies to someone that isn't afraid to pick them up, toss them in a jar and take the full jar to the bank. They add up quickly.

Well, I don't know but It is possible that they are doing some sort of situational dispatching. What they told me about the loads being drawn from a hat does contradict what I was told many times earlier. I still run more miles than most of the driver's around here and I was told that my average length of haul is much higher than the average but I don't remember what the exact numbers were.

I find it hard to believe a lot of what dispatch says. Especially about how they assign loads. From what I can see the bottom line is the determining factor and everything else doesn't really matter much.

that was me then, they trainer they sent to relay that load was only in the right seat phase still and not running team yet. That load was suppose to be in Laredo the next day at 0900,i didn't have the hours to do it.they were gonna be in Laredo sometime Friday
