I had a Cascadia once upon a time. All of 17k on the clock, and I loved it.
Had it for 2 months before it was taken away because it was supposed to be a team truck.
Got an old Volvo with 500k on it as a trade.
And we traded trucks in a truck stop.

mine is probably supposed to be a team truck but so far nothing said, mine had 65k miles when I got it. Both the prostars I had were meant for teams but guess they dont worry as much about the older prostars. My last prostar they stuck me with had almost 500k, I thought they retired the trucks around 500k.

I just completed my year with Swift last week and resigned. During my tenure the "newest" truck I had was a 2010 Prostar with 565 on the clock. I had an 09 Volvo with 675 on the clock and an 08 Prostar with 781. I was a little disappointed in my truck selection but they kept saying it was my fault because I had one of my kids with me the entire time and needed a double bunk. Either way I'm through living in a truck and running out of hours in the middle of BFE and sleeping on the side of the road and using the bushes for a bathroom. My old mentor said this was my fault for letting my DM run me instead of me running the DM and stopping in good areas regardless of my hours. Either was OTR is over. It was real and it was fun but it wasn't real fun!

Could it be the Holiday weekend? Steve is home for our eldests birthday today, he's 12 when did I get old? when did Steve get really old? :) Either way though it is still Veterns Day and businesses are either closed or having a sale. Many empty trailers maybe sitting on lots that are closed for the holiday and ungettable, other's maybe be bobtailed and parked because they are at home. Steve's is at Freightliner getting worked on.

That said as a company driver Steve had tons of trucks from constantly needing work on junk, to a beautiful Volvo that he wished he could lease one just like it. The smell test was his first and most important deciding factor when looking for a new truck in the yard. When he leased Swift had like 15 Kenworths to choose from in Phx, but he took one in Idaho or Oregon that some guy leased put 1750 miles on it and backed out of, he ordered it so it has a fridge and is that wonderful black, he loves his truck since it is his home he should. It is great not having to clean out the truck when he comes home.

    I'm near Indianapolis, IN, at a Love's taking a 34.

Yesterday I had 41 minutes left on my 70, today zero hours coming in and tomorrow only 5.5 hours.
Good hours in the following days, but I figured just take a 34 and come back at 0800 instead of 0300 and get my full hours back.

I got several bogus fuel routes this morning. I guess the system is having some problems. I am not even under a load right now.
My last load, I wasn't even sent a fuel route until I called a few times for fuel.
And then it was a weekend DM that finally helped me. She said she would just do it manually since the fuel routing system was having problems. She was laughing about how the others I spoke to seemed to have such a hard time with it.

Made it a couple hours early to the final and they assigned me a door right away and started unloading. While waking around with Abby, ran into my wife's cousin who works at this place. I knew he worked for the vendor just didn't know he worked at that particular place. Anyway so that was cool, now taking a few days off for hometime ttfn

guess that might explain why I came back to my truck this morning and saw a fuel stop that showed up a couple days later than my dispatch...Ignoring the fuel stop anyway

Left home this morning and went and got an old Ms trailer from Grainger in Patterson, CA. There were 3 MS trailers sitting there and I guess they have been sitting for a long time, had cobwebs all over etc. Dm wants me to drop it at Anheiser in Van Nuys since UPS wont take it, has 5 numbers instead of 6 then he wants me to just go back to the Adelanto runs, guess he realized it would be smarter for me to finish up those trailers before sending me 100's of miles for others. I like the Switch since the other plan was 306 miles and this dropped the plan to 296 which gives an extra 6cpm a mile and comes out making me $15 more to drive less and the actual route is 284 miles.
When heading to get the trailer I got pulled into the Santa Nella weigh station bobtailed and they pulled me to do a level 2 inspection which got me stuck there for about 20min so wasnt too bad.

Decided to stop at the FlyingJ in Lebec since I would of been hitting LA traffic a little after 5pm and that would of really ate the rest of my 14, will get up tomorrow early and run it in and get the heck out of the area before the morning rush and by the time I hook to another trailer I should be just missing the morning traffic coming back.
