Got to the final in Houston, 3 load offers via mac 30 all 200 miles loaded- pickup at midnight tonight, picked the lightest one and sent mac 31. Preplan comes in No Delivery Appointment Yet. So copy/pasted the trip number and sent macro 0 asking what the del appt is, and the response I got back was Load Assignment. They finally told me delivery is good til noon tomorrow so I didn't go ape on the fact I never accepted the load in the first place with a macro 9. Then got another message the Load Assignment will be late after 0415. So I sent another message asking for noon delivery confirmation, and the person was snippety saying they already told me that.
Good night from...

Why not just send a Mac9 with the times?
Then it would simply be sent back to you with those times or removed.
My last pplan really bugged me.
It had me picking up a preloaded at 2200, after I delivered the previous load at 1600 - and I would clearly need a 10 before I could do it.
I said I could pick up at 0600 the next morning, and still deliver on time.
It was sent back as 'not meeting the customers requirements'. ???
Just as well, since the load I had accepted to get me to that load was cancelled later today.
But I have a problem with this kind of planning.
Sending back to back pplans, one delivering 6 hours before the next picks up and after the driver has already driven most of the day.
Are they just throwing it against the wall and hoping something sticks?
And what do they expect when we turn it down - because I have gotten some rude remarks from planners as to why I turned it down.
And that last one, I could have delivered on time. I just needed more time for the pick up.
So now I am sitting after losing 2 loads.
And I expect, since my PTA is 0630, that I'll get a pplan at 0600 telling me to pick up at 0700 60 miles away (when it is actually 83 miles away on back roads) when they already know I have to find an mt before I can do it.
Either that, or I'll be ready to roll at 0630 and I'll sit until 1700 for the pplan that will have me driving all night after being up all day.scottied67 and dptrucker Thank this. -
yeah thats how it usually works, I know one time I had my pta set for 0500 and waited all day long for a load and finally around 2200 I was about to go to bed and they send a preplan wanting me to pick up at 2330, dont think so. If they would of sent it even just a few hours earlier i could of at least took a nap and picked it up, I am sure they knew about this load all day long too....not like the customer calls them at 2200 and says send a driver in a hour for this load...
I am shut down at the Hesperia Pilot, the wind got bad on parts of the 15 coming here, tons of trucks parked on the shoulder shortly north of Fontana area, it blew me around a few times and I thought about just pulling over but instead slowed down and pushed through, the wind let up some after I got closer to cajon pass, going over the hill I saw a few snow flurries but not cold enough for anything to stick.
I was going to originally take a trailer from Adelanto back into LA but decided with the rain, cold, wind and dumb drivers I will just drive at daylight tomorrow. Have I ever mentioned how much I HATE driving in LA areas? Seems im always going into the areas with really tight streets and turns, its not a truck friendly city thats for sure. -
Why is there not a policy to lock up the trucks that are submitted to the shop and subsequently parked outside?
I would have, but there was no delivery appointment. Normally I would straight up turn this load down but I have been recently chastised for only having a 23% load acceptance rate. so I thought I would be courteous and ask what the del was before turning it down. Plus I was leery to adjust the times; they might assign the load to me and I'm stuck with it. Last time i had a No Appt load, they added 4 days to a 600 mile runMoosetek13 Thanks this. -
Got some really bad news last night. My DM who has been with Swift for 14 years is leaving as of next Wednesday. Rudy has been outstanding in about every way imaginable from knowing who I was and truck number by my voice within a week to truly demonstrating how to be my business partner. He will be hard to replace; I told my FM the fng will have some big shoes to fill.
I'm headed for P&G in Oxnard, CA for delivery Monday night. Does anyone know of any parking in the area? I used to own a house on Silverstrand Beach and just don't remember any places and all of my phone apps that list truck stops aren't any help. I'm taking the rest of the week off to be with family in Buck Owens hometown but I don't know if I can get away with off duty driving since I'll be pulling an mty.
I'm in Fort Stockton parked three hours earlier than planned due to freezing rain and pea sized ice pellets. I actually got into an 18 wheel low speed drift on the off ramp on the way in here. I expect to get my butt unclenched from the upholstery in an hour or so but if not the scissors are within reach and I've been thinking about getting the seat cushions redone anyway.

I had a fun day with accident traffic on I94 in MI today.
Seems there were 4 separate accidents just past mm54 on the east bound side, so they closed the highway and diverted traffic off at exit 52.
Then there were a couple more accidents along the detour, stopping that traffic.
All in all I lost 2 hours to those delays, and then I had to take that stupid 30 minute break before I could deliver my load.
I ended up 2.5 hours late.
I had a pplan come in, which was removed a few seconds later. Then another came in.
I didn't want to stop and be even later, so I waited until I delivered the load to respond to it.
Just as I was starting the Mac9 the pplan was removed.
sigh, just one of those days. -
got a preplan to p/u?in yuma az going to ontario ca. went to dispatch window here in pheonix term to ask for an mt. he said since i dont have to be there till 0800 tomorrow morning, he says planners wont send me one till in the morning. so i walked over to the planners and asked them saying i wanted to drive over to yuma tonite. they said it wont be till the morning. so i asked if they had any live unloads for today. they gave me a load that was sitting in the yard going to same place in yuma az lol. only its a 1500 delivery time tomorrow and its a live unload. i'll call early tomorrow to see if they will let me come in early.

Has anyone seen this video?
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie...matches-jcvd-epic-split-set-22-183701197.html
Channing Tatum vs. Jean-Claude Van Dammes in Epic Split Showdown!
Pretty impressive, I must say.
Both for Jean-Claude and for Volvo.
One of the comments suggested that the trucks were actually going forward, and then the video was reversed.
But look at the wind effects on his shirt. The trucks were actually going in reverse the whole time.
