Thank you sir. It's definitely been a tough 2 months. 1st a new trans then this. That's 20,000.00 i could have used for other things. Oh well, that's trucking, just have to shake it off and start again lol.

I plan on doing mine in spring. I'll do most of the work but still plan on spending 8K on parts.[/QUOTE]
I think I'll be doing my inframe here before long too. -
In Nashville, started running UPS loads last monday. Had loads for mon. tue. and wed. went on pop up board and been sitting ever since. Guess UPS freight hasn't gotten started good yet. Got a room cause it was going to be cold all weekend. Got loads scheduled for mon, tue and wed again next week, off thur and friday and then scheduled until 12-23-13. Gonna get it while the getting is good. Been good so far meeting some other Mercer drivers. I think Mercer is a great fit for me. Opportunities are there, plenty of them.
Travelinman Thanks this. -

Just got off the phone with my mechanic. $6k for inframe with his kit. But I already have the injectors. That includes bullgear also. -
Wow that's still sounds really cheap. Parts included for 6K?
Must not be a cat or detroit 60 series. -
Ya I thought so. It's a 60 series 500 hp. His wife was sick awhile back and he was selling his labor rate at $50 per hour to raise some cash I bought 20 hrs worth so that knocks quite a bit off.
-
Oh so it's actually 6K plus the $1000 you've .paid. I still say that's quite cheap considering 3 years ago I did my detroit 500 hp and spent 6K without bullgear or injectors doing the job myself.
Might ask if that includes machining the head, new injector cups, new liners, new oil pump, new cam, new waterpump? -
No price he quoted was $6k. He said 6 and I said plus labor, he said no total. Maybe he's giving me a big break because when they had a benefit for his wife I got a Lil tipsy and spent wwwaaayyyyy too much money. He's a good egg been my mech for over 15 yrs. He regular labor rate is only $65 an hr.

New liners, pistons, rods, mains, injectors (which I already have), cups, bullgear, oil pump. Water Pump and turbo less than 6 months. Never mentioned head and cam but hey I might as well while it's apart. If I hadn't just put new turbo on I'd go with a b/w non gated and power box, am going to get the Pittsburgh exhaust manifold when he does this.

A guy I know was asking me what I paid on my Volvo 12.7 500hp it cost me $10,500 out the door he said that's high he was told $6,400 after dropping his off he said it didn't include decking the block or anything with the head.
