I know what they are moving for going to GA & FL. Needless to say, we only get those loads when they are hot and need to move. The rates to the South are pathetic.

I just laughed at the rate, you don't suppose it has anything to do with the gray trucks with the animal on the side do you?:biggrin_25523:

Yes...but they couldn't do it by themselves. There is a certain heavy haul company out of Carlisle (not the one with the blue trucks) that keeps posting loads to GA. For that matter the MN mothership posts them as well. Your rates have to be close to the low to get rates to GA & FL. Must be where everyone wants to go. I am told the guys in the gray trucks bounce up to Iowa to haul those loads. Not sure how those numbers work.

I can't say I've seen the animal trucks in Waterloo. Only seen them in Dub and Dav. And of course there's the company who has a yard down the road from The Loo that has 40 or 50 tractors sitting there.

That's who we get them from, the mothership. I did do one for them this summer that went west and it paid well.

I don't know who has that yard down there.

I believe it to be Val. Talked to one of their drivers awhile back according to him they bid 320 loads to fl.

    Oscar the KW Thanks this.

Valley is a will call carrier, meaning they haul directly for the dealer. They stockpile tractors heading to Florida and then haul them once the winter auctions are over. In the middle of the summer that yard will be empty.

Well it's official, I got approved on the loan for my rig. Even got a 4.25% rate. I am very happy I did not go with the first lender, much higher rate and down payment. My local credit union made me an offer I could not refuse(grin). The first one was making jump through so many hoops I finally said forget it. They even wanted the name and number of my mechanic!?!. Walked into the credit union and 1 hour later all was good. Question, does the mercer store sell beacons ans oversize signs and stuff? Or should I wait to see if I even need them?

Mercer will have most anything you need in their store, when I was there they had good prices also.
