Just wondering what to expect while in the training program, What did others average monthly ? I'll be based out of Phoenix.
How much money can I expect to make while training with swift ?

I can't say for Swift, but when I was training with Crete it was 300.00 week, that was in 2006. Then I took a break and worked local and then worked for the National Guard, then when I went back out with Werner, they made me go with a trainer for awhile and they only paid 350.00 to 400.00 a week. That is all the insight I can give, but it seems most starter companies are about the same. Your recruiter should be telling you what you will be making from day one.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Best money you'll ever make with some companies,
my case $350.00 / wk minus taxes,
I also refused to drive sometimes,
just so trainer could get more miles,
this was 2006.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Trucking is trucking, don't ecspect to get rich especially during your training period.Swift is one on the lowest paid carriers in this industry so you'll be making spending money is about it.
blairandgretchen and Snowshoes Thank this. -
You should gross between $85-90,000 that first month.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Pattyj is on the money, expect a split of less than .32cpm - or a base rate of 300-600 gross.
I think prime promises (!) $600 in training - like I said (!!!!) . . . -
When I was in training at Prime, I don't remember how much it was per mile for all miles but in 6 months, no wife or kids at the time, I paid my bills and took care of myself on the road, I still came out $11K large in cash in my pocket. Wish I still had the picture I took of it in the truck with my trainer but after I got my own truck and went solo, that got spent trying to make up paying bills when I didn't make coin. Sucks because I thought I was on the road to freedom and thought I had it made till I started getting screwed on miles. I figured with what I saved and running good miles afterwards I would bank in around $40-45K that year. What a disappointment. My total YTD on my taxes was $27K and some change. Talk about pissed!

$9.50 hourly on duty driving & $7.25 (minimum wage) hourly for on duty - not driving while completing your 240 hour training period with mentor.

I drove for Swift back in 2004. They are what they are.
-
Do yall ever use the search button? I swear every day there is a new "How much will I make at X company".
-
It has changed since I went through mentorship.
If these are the new rates I would be on-duty-not-driving as much as I could when I was not actually driving.
Which means, not going off-duty while pulling in for a pee break, or meal break. Stay on-duty while loading or unloading.
Burn those hours, and get paid for them.
Then enjoy the extra sleep when you have to do the 34++.
