that's the key. I'll go any where and haul anything, tarp anything. it's all about the rate. that's why I'm up here freezing in iowa. came up out of south carolina for 2.66 with 7k lbs. stopped this morning and bouncing 200 miles to grab a load right back to southern Virginia for 2.03 but this one is heavy, might strain my lil Detroit pulling 35k.

You missing something here.it all depends on where you dropping your load.you said if you going to a good area is better to wait for a good load to pop out and forgot to mention that you wont be first on the board,a good load may never pop out.your strategy aka being mercerised only works if you willing to sit.2.03 to s virginia from iowa I wont even look at it,you dh 200 miles wich puts you in il or wi where 2.5 is the minimum for me.maybe you dh west to ne.i stay preplanned cause while you waiting for that good load I already got the good ones in the other end

well I'm happy with 2.03 this time of year, on a Friday, in iowa. in the spring on a Tuesday in a better area, not so much. but as long as I'm over 2.00 for the week I'm happy.
and what I said is if you are in a good area, don't get nervous and jump on any old load just cause it's already late in the day.

not really. I'm not gonna burn but maybe 65k miles this year. now I do like to stay busy while out here, 1800 to 2200 miles is perfect for me. 10 days to two weeks out max, then back home for atleast a week.

not really kmx7022, those rates are there if ya look for em, but the devil is in the details, may be 8 foot tarp, abit oversize, or just a load that needs moving.

I pull loads regularly well over 2.00 a mile to the truck. you just got to work the load board like a maniac. you certainly wont get those every day , but it happens fairly often.

and the rates he quoted wont be an every week thing either, I prefer being the tortoise slow and steady , my all miles avg by the speedometer for the year is a shade over 2.00 per mile and I have as of today at mm51 on I-95 in ga at the scales ran 92,000 miles on the speedometer
