What an awful day...

 

After dropping the salt on Tues, loaded Buildex at Marquette, headed to Tulsa, then loaded UREA (of course), hauled that back to Beloit. When I loaded at Port-33 it was a balmy 53*, by the time I made it to the west side of Tulsa, temp dropped to 36*. When I made it to Beloit, it was 20*, hey but the sun was shining. Once it was unloaded, hauled butt for Lyons. Got loaded and had to camp in Lyons Wed night. Then took the salt to Shawnee, back to Lebo (local quarry), loaded rock and took that to Claflin. Back to Lyons for more salt. However again ran out of hours, due to having an air leak earlier, truck being in the shop for about an hour or two. Camped at Lyons again, watched it snow.

This morning left Lyons at 6am, roads were in good shape, less than an inch of snow. Took this load to a Small landscaping/construction company, KCMO. The bin where I dumped, is located in the far, SE corner of the Triple Crown Railroad hub.


From there back to the shop, short day!! However truck is back in the shop, still having air leak problem. Will be loading Monday morning at Chanute with CKD (Kiln Dust) to go to Perryton, TX. Dispatch says it makes no sense, why would anyone want dust that must be mixed into the ground with water, while it's only 15*.

 

At a little hidey hole near Somerset PA waitin for all the Supertruckers to go to bed or finish crashin so I can get HOME might even break down and take the pike--egads

Well Pete hang on to it cuz prolly gonna come true--only stopped cuz there a wreck out there(imagine that)&couple o big boy wanna bes cranked up the ol Global Putemin Sxxx box--headed out across 31 in the snow and now have POSTIONED themselves half in the ditch and half on the road&im about tired of sitting here watching it snow&letting the freighthaulers have all the fun out there....
Course kinda want to hang here till the bear gets back from the cleanup to hear what the boys in the big blue truck had to say......LMAO
But since I'd really like Ta git home fore I gotta leave again---I prolly won't wait

 

80 in wy was interesting today
most everyone doing 45-50 on the packed icy snow
then you would catch up to a driver doing 35
and the wiggle wagons out in the giddy up lane doing 60
40-50 trucks on the side of the road with gelled fuel I suspect
only 2 wrecks thou

 

Let me see... minus 33 + wind... You are right, we don't want to know...

My day went smoothly... I arrived at receiver earlier than I expected. Broker was quite happy. Unloading didn't take long. Then I rushed from NJ to PA for another pick up. Got loaded... didn't take long either. And was able to park at this FJ in VA. This place gets quite jammed with trucks... A truck parked on the corner on the row in front of me had his right fender and headlight and bumper damaged by another truck... Hey Otter... just like that damage you showed me... I hope the trucks parked on my sides don't leave tonight... so nobody else tries to park next to me in the middle of my sleep... This place makes me nervous... I slept only 4 hrs last night after got my trailer light fixed... Now I really need to sleep... A lot of rain this weekend... Going to TN My co's office closed very early yesterday and today because of the road conditions in OK. You all be safe out there.
