i just ordered that one from amazon for 14 bucks -
Let us know how it works. -
well i got it from amazon but its the same on that diesel boss has on there page for 90 bucks -
If money is tight, hear stories of drivers with no money cause of child support etc, then anything for $14 is better than nothing, to save your job and your CDL.
Wise choice to get one, grats on new dash cam -
I wasn't even going to subscribe to this thread but, I had to mention I am happy to hear someone knows more than others and squashed the myths about recording LEO's. I have thought about getting a cam and now will look into the black box...thanks all

I'd prefer a dash cam with either no audio, or at least option to mute audio.
So many businesses and CCTV security cameras pointed towards entrance and streets, trucks should be no different, this is for business.
Now the people staying 10 feet away from cops making obvious video with their iPhone and/or posting the video on YouTube is a real fast way to get arrested. Even if the case gets thrown out in court, you've still lost both time and money fighting it.
With a dash cam, we're not putting a camera in the officers face, and we're not putting it up on YouTube. Although there are a few people that do exact just that, in their face AND upload to YouTube, seem to get away with it. Just search YouTube for "border patrol checkpoint" and stuffSheepDog and Dieselboss Thank this. -
- I must have dozens of of different dash cameras in my office right now. We spend the money on everything from a $15 camera to a $400 camera and all of the increments in between so that we stay knowledgeable on the technology.
- I could sell a $14 camera, but it would act like a $14 camera. 50% of them would be dead boxes within 90 days. And it would have a low-end chipset inside (which is where the main cost difference is by the way.)
So, here's an even better deal for you.
PM me the link to the camera that meets the following basic attributes:
- Zoran or better internal HD chipset for crisp images
- .1 lux low light capability without having the "IR" light gimmick (which actually bounces back most vertically angled windshields in trucks)
- An included SD memory card in the box so that my $14 didn't actually mean another $10-$30 for a Class 10 SD card.
- A U.S. phone number that I can ask questions about the camera six days, or six months from now
- An HDMI video output jack
- Motion detection that works past the end of my hood so that I'm not recording a whole bunch of nothing when parked (where the majority of trucks actually get hit.)
- 12 months of warranty
That would be roughly the "same" as on my site for the DB4 model for example. Send me that link or phone number, and I'll send you the 14 bucks and your camera will now be free.
There is no doubt whatsoever that there are over 8000 various dash and windshield cameras on Amazon now. And even the lowest-end of them would be better than no camera if you had to try to prove something in court, or to the boss. And there are also very nice better ones in the world too. I am a big fan of the GoPro for instance.
But you did NOT buy the "same" as on our site.
