Time to get settled in the new home ,but Unfortunatly when my moving company trailer didnt show up
When I expected it to , an TN DMV gave me a Hardtime ingetting my CDL Transferred Over to a TN CDL
i kept in touch with Ryan Getts about my Situation , so he told me to come in to FF HQ's to get a Quick
Orientation on Dec.6 , informed him i only had a Small amount of Clothes to wear , So hegave me3
FF shirts , a FF Hat an Rubber Ice Shoe Protectors, then he informed mei in would only make
0.34 Cpm , be put on as a Casual Driver which doesnt give you Health Coverage an ill just work on Call
Less than 2000 miles p/ week,he was very rude to me about it an Expected me to go out that same

As you know, each FF terminal is like its own company as it is dedicated to an individual customer warehouse. There is a different culture terminal to terminal for sure. I worked for FF for 13 years in Colorado. The job itself is what kept me there, good miles and routes. But the manager was a real jerk. He had no people skills and was a constant PITA. The district managers name was Robb Getts (a relation to your Getts I assume) and he too was good at screwing the driver over. The company offers great hometime and decent pay but has a high turnover like most trucking companies due to management. If the whole fleet was operated like Tolleson they would be great to work for. That being said, FF will probably read this and that Tolleson manager will be hung from a pole for being too nice
TrooperCat Thanks this. -
I worked out of Cedar Rapids, IA for FF in 2004. ###### good experience, except for the fact Ryan Getts was our terminal manager!

Didn't they run that paper plant there? I remember seeing tons of their trailers sitting in the lot back when I used to run those scrap paper loads onto that godforsaken place.

I am currently driving for the terminal in tolleson, AZ. Honestly, it's the best drivin job I've ever had. Cannot speak for the other terminals however.

I had a good job at First Fleet. 1800 miles per week doing northeast regional. Easy work. 350-400 miles per day average. $1250 guaranteed salary a week working Georgia Pacific dedicated out of Quakertown ,PA. Home 2-3 nights a week. All day Saturday and Sunday off. Sometimes a paid day off during the week. Brand new 2015 truck my first day. I was there almost two years and planned on staying longer. I felt they treated me well. They send you a birthday card and $50 worth if gift cards at Christmas. How many other companies do that? Unfortunately we had a lot of drivers quit and were never replaced. I know they hoped to expand our branch to at least 20 drivers but, for some reason we had trouble attracting drivers so we never has more than 10 or 12. Corporate decided to shut our branch down putting 5-6 drivers and two office workers out of work. Obviously a $$$ thing. They gave us a choice to stay with thee company or leave and they would give us two weeks severance pay. They only other jobs were the Elkton, VA Coors division that worked 6 days a week, 3000 miles/week to make less than what I was earning and the terminal was 350 miles from my house. The other choice was a day cab route but that was over an hour and 1/2 drive each way from me.
So I'm not happy they closed our division. It won't be easy finding a job that pays that well for the amount of work we did. But I did like First Fleet and I really wish I had made it to 2 years with them. -
Used to have like 51% of the rolls coming outta the ip mill, Westside took over most the acct about 4 years ago, we still do a little of it, very little.
