Noobie from NM

Hello everyone. Actually been reading this forum off and on for a few years so I decided it was time to actually sign up. I am 49 and looking at getting into another driving job. I spent 13 years as a firefighter (glad to be out of that crap) and have been hauling frac sand for two years. I know my profile says I have 11 years experience. Not sure if that is right. A DOT officer friend told me not to sell myself short since I was a driver/engineer at the FD driving pumpers and a 7000 gallon tanker. Anyway, let me know what you experience truckers think. Anyway, like I said, I have been calling frac sand. It pays well and I have no problems with the company it's just that it is a pretty mindless job. (now don't go saying that I think sand haulers are dumb. That is not the case. It's just that there is not much thinking involved). I would really like to get into pulling a tanker (pref. HM). I have experience in hauling HM although it was mostly done hotshotting in the oilfield. Same laws with a smaller truck but I really enjoyed it. Hauledd CO2 for a couple of weeks but the boss sold the big truck so then it was just hotshotting.

If anyone can give me any advice on tanker companies that are good to work for and any tips would be appreicated.
