Pulling a post from way back... LOL! We are doing our research for when we buy our truck and where we want to leap to, IF we leap (probably will)... Home base is Sacramento, you mentioned getting loads out easily... Is it still that way? Would that be flat bed, box, refer? Still in the early stages of planning here, so I'm sure there will be more questions to come :D

If you are planning on pulling a van at Mercer you live in a good area with plenty of freight.

I had them before where they get a few cross docked pallets that breaks down to to 50 pallets or something. It takes them forever because they put one person on it that has to label each box and get their breaks in.

Red I think you will like it here. Ive only on my second week and I'm very happy here. Everybody is very nice and easy to get along with. Not to forget the money is good for being winter and all. Good luck, Rob.

I think I found out why I had a milage discrepancy, I broke down and got a gps and at the end of today my speedometer read 281.4 and the gps says 268.5. Gee that might make a difference! Also my speedo is 5mph fast, I wondered why everybody was blowing my doors off. It also explaines why I was only getting 5.5 mpg. I will use gps milage and see what it then. Also skate, are trying to tell me I should not be complaining about the tube loads in the winter?:biggrin_25523:

If your speedometer is off that much, you're actually getting less that 5.5 mpg.
