Realistically how many miles

65 mph truck - I average 620-670 miles in an 11 hr shift.

California at 55-60, slower in cities, work zones . . .

Minimum pontification there, you see. I'm getting better.

 

I'm talking about 11 hrs TOTAL you can drive in any 24 hr period,I would love to see how you going to explain to the DOT you have 13.25 hrs logged on line 3 during your shift.

 

So simple and some make it more complicated then it has to be.No wonder ppl including the DOT doesn't know the law.Many drivers get unjustifiable violations because every one is on a different page.

 

like others said it depends on speed, traffic etc. You can still make a decent paycheck even if you only average 400 miles a day and normally wont need to do a 34 so you can just keep on trucking with recaps, I think the most I have ever driven in a 24 hour period was 710 but thats very rare. I have had several days with 600+ and I have had some bad ones from traffic, accidents etc where I might of done 200 in a day.

 

That's why you read the rule book.

 

You know we truckers are basic and want everything basic, easily readable and understandable.Sometimes laws get technical and you think what the heck did I just read.Its like brake it down.

 

lol I consider myself fairly intelligent, was a great student, have degrees etc but I still struggle to understand some of the laws and have to read it multiple times. I can only imagine what some of the idiots struggle with (I know we don't have any of those driving these things!)

 

What's your point?

 

Quit using all the math and brake it down is all im saying nothing more nothing less.Does'nt have to have 10 pages for each part of the hos to learn the law.

 

How much more simple and accurate can you get than what I said?
