Where do I find the brokers phone numbers at. Is it under the contractor's web then links then home town terminals. And is the flatbed brokers same as the van brokers? Really don't want to rely on my coordinator.

You should've been given a list of phone # while in orentation. I beleive there is also a list in your drivers manual also.

I've haven't seen it on the web links, but I'm not that intuitive.

PM me and I can email you a list. There is the main list, for flatbed, and a shorter list that says vans, but I think all agents have van freight. I've been suggesting that a list of agents be put on the contractorweb and kept current there, it shouldn't be that hard to do.

My Christmas present? Paid off my trailer yesterday, a couple months ahead of time! :yes2557:

And about a week ago finally got my 53x102 van sold for a way better price than expected. Good end to the year, and still have three more loads to deliver (excluding the ones tomorrow contracted to Claus Transport, LLC).

Did you switch from a van to a flatbed at Mercer? If so, why? Thanks. I will very likely lease onto Mercer in the near future.

No, I came to Mercer after closing down my company and suspending my authority. Like many others have found, at Mercer it is almost like having your own authority but without many of the headaches and hassles. I had the van from previous operations. I'd thought about trying to switch between flat and van as available freight varies for each during the year, but since I have to pay to keep my parking location the additional cost of a trailer always sitting parked wasn't worth the trouble. If you have a van you'll see flatbed loads you'd like. If you have a flatbed you'll see van loads. If you have a regular flatbed you'll see stepdeck or RGN loads, and vice versa. In other words, the grass is always greener on the other side ... until you're there of course. Too bad you're in Asheville, my trailer was in Charlotte and you could have had a real bargain.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I see ths van rates and think I should have started with a van, but then I see and grab flat loads that pay better. So no regrets here.

Rooster' if I looked up the right exit numbers it should be around 7 dollars. I did not exactly which exits you were taking so you results may vary.(grin)
