Brake chamber click?

    I was always curious what the heck that noise was. When I leave my key in the on position and I hear like clicking noises coming from the brake chambers.

    Inland nailed it. Every time you turn the key on the ABS system cycles the valves and does a continuity test of all the wheel sensors.

    Once in a while hold the foot brake down with you turn the key on. Those clicks will be louder chuffs of air. It helps keep the modulators clean and working good to activate them with air pressure on them.

    early ABS systems click all modulators one by one, newer - one click with all modulators to test ABS/EBS voltage supply circuit.

    That's a great idea. Never thought about it before but doing this in winter would help clear condensation.
