I've been with Mercer since September and have loved every minute. I live in SC and pull vans. I keep moving, don't like sitting still, have a great coordinator - we work together really well, I run everything except the north east but could go there too. Van freight is a little more limited than the flatbed side but I don't have any problem going anywhere I want. So far my average per mile has been pretty good I think with less than 100 mile average deadhead. Seriously interested, pm me and I can share more details. This company will treat you really well. Just do your job, drive the truck and deliver loads on time. It ain't rocket science...

    Lady K Thanks this.

Well I'm here in Ontario, California now. I can't find Mercer row! lol

Well it worked better than I expected but I still don't like being out here.

The deal for me was this. I found a load that paid the 5pts more because it was scheduled for delivery for the 2nd. 1.93 36k . 30 miles from my house in NC.
I found a load heading out for same deal. 1.65 27k 9 mile deadhead. The kicker for me was they both agreed to allow me to both deliver and pick up early. Yesterday.
This was my 1st time with Mercer going west and nothing has changed except they fixed the grapevine.lol
I still won't be back again even though I did fine. I make more money staying east of I 35.
I'm just pissed I can't find Mercer row! lol

    Happy New Year all! #mercerpride

I'll be doing stuff in Phoenix tomorrow if anyone is passing through. I know my way around there pretty good. Stopping at Danny's to get a good truck wash and polish. Good guys there and good prices. I know a place that has security to watch my truck and will drive me to the store, I may stay the night and visit some old friends maybe go shooting at the range who knows. Then I will buy some blankets in New Mexico lol. Just making the best of it.
I came in on I40. I stopped at the Big texan A couple days ago and got me the 50th anniversary sirloin. It was delish! They played songs and I tipped them well lol!

Lmao. What a comedian you are. So hilarious !! Barstow is notorious for empty mercer. Ontario is too. If you reloaded without waiting then you just proved my point. The contract says first in and first out. So your either full of it. Or you jumped the line. Kind of hard to believe you are the absolutely only Mercer truck in California or Arizona....

the Barstow crowd has dwindled to nothing , the big military moves have declined along with the military budget and cut back on training, so the Barstow crowds from ft. Irwin haven't developed. and I am in Baytown ,tx , booked a load for today with no problem, best we could count there were 6 mercer guys at Baytown and we all had loads booked for jan.2.

I had mine booked before I delivered in Houston, its all in how ya do it, on the way out I knew there would be very little chance of loading on new years eve so when the load for jan 2 popped up I took it.

the longest I ever sat in cali was in jan 2012, delivered on jan3 at travis air base sat the weekend and loaded Monday in Selma at fresno valve, 3 days with the weekend, if you plan ahead and book the loads in advance you can do that.

and he probably isn't the only mercer truck in cali, but you also have to remember there are a boat load of us who cant run cali as of jan 1, me included in that.

this time of year is that bad , as many guys are home til after the first, its a little easier to get loads. dec jan feb have been my best months every year I have been at mercer.

and you also see empty landstar and others everywhere.

the contract says first in ,first out, but loads run the board well ahead of pickup date. some guys wont book to far ahead , they are afraid they will miss a better load. I at times am booked 3 or 4 loads ahead, and I aint jumped the line, its all in you decide to take or not take loads.

just because your deal was a disaster according to you, doesn't mean its that way for everybody.

Yes Sir, It works, I'm living proof of that. I listened to your advice and others here which helped me hit the ground running.

Deputy. I don't know what to tell you well, actually I do lol. Anyway yea that pic of mine was taken at the Arkadelphia Days Inn. I got a room there so I could watch the UFC that night. There's a sports bar across the street. Now I stream it live in my truck on my 32" LCD.

I have no need to lie about my style. I don't jump any line. I use a strategy and my brain. I book most loads on my own and ahead. But it doesn't matter because I take it you left right? and you've become the ghost that won't leave the house. lol!

My numbers are consistent and I ranked in the top 5% in revenue this past 4th quarter. Top 100 in November and December. I'm proud to say.
