Was to deliver on Tuesday (yesterday) but sometime on Monday they shot me a msg saying to deliver on Thursday (new pay period). So I went to the final anyway just to see if they would take it. They did not want it til the new year for tax purposes. Well, the Houston yard was only a couple miles away, I sent a freeform msg asking for 'tcall for pay' then drove over there. They happily tcalled me but I got a msg from fleet that tcall for pay is against company policy. *rolls eyes*. Next load to tcall in Laredo broker for Mexico bound load New Years day (today). Got inspected and talked to the window, the fellow told me if they are closed to come back and he will tcall for pay then I can deliver tomorrow lol.

Leaving Laredo tonight bound for DFW

I was finally able to t-call my load this morning, so I can book the 1000 miles from Denver for this pay period. Dropped the trailer where I slept last night in the ML "new" yard, then hooked to my new trailer that delivers at 04:00 in Moreno Valley for a live unload. Then I'll get another dispatch and keep running until the TJ Maxx dedicated team starts running sometime next week.

I watched two drivers attempt to hook to an empty trailer and a full container in the new yard this morning. They barely had enough space to back into the trailers, hooked up and couldn't get them out. They were both in the dispatch office this morning complaining that the way folks have parked in the new yard leaves way too little space to get trailers in or out. I agree completely. They NEED to get the yard dogs in there and start painting parking spots. The problem is the first row closest to the old yard was set up without backing all the way to the curb by the fence, after that each row toward the new driver's terminal gets progressively tighter and day cabs are filling a lot of the area.

they need to plan it or the new yard wont be much help....

took a load to Woodland Hills, I got there and the employee lot where the dock was empty with no cars in my way and the 3rd dock was wide open so when I removed the mt I had tons of space to do my blind but leave it to me to make things hard with too much space....got back to the dc with great traffic, even the 405 was a breeze today then got my next load going to Salinas near Monterey. I originally was going to stop at the store for my 10 since I wasnt finding much in my trip planning for stopping but along the way I saw a mom and pop truck stop outside Paso Robles which was mostly empty so I made it back this way and stopped here with only a handful of trucks parked which saves me 2 hours of driving after my 10 to get back to the dc, preplanned for a load to Santa Maria which is supposed to be ready by 1600, I hope to see it ready by 1400 then get on my way and make it back to the dc before midnight to shut down.

It's always nice to find a great place to park for a 10. I imagine pretty soon you'll have all the best places scoped out in your territory. I've got a few "hip pocket" places to park where most truckers don't go that provide great sleep and amenities.

normally i make it back to the dc round trips, its when they double stack me since I have the sleeper where sometimes I might have to stay out but sometimes I just camp at the Target for the easy spot which would of been the case if I didnt see this place on the way. Once I get going with the Vegas runs I will need to scope out those nice spots along the way since I will be bound to take 10's at some point each load. I only need to find parking it seems once or twice a week so its not bad, sometimes I will choose the store since we all know how finding parking during the middle of the night can be

There's some nice spots off the freeway if you just need a place to park. Best to scope those out in the daytime, as it is hard to see them in the dark before you are already past them. I love parking in the high desert at night with no lights around so you can really enjoy the stars.

Taking a 10 at the T&A in Wildwood, FL. (Wifi sucks here...) Pick up in Orlando tomorrow, haul it to DFW. Get to take a 34 at my friend's place this week; looking forward to that!
