Mercer Transportation Co., Inc. - Louisville, Ky.?

I tend to think part of the reason Mercer works for some and not for others, is the payload, percentage of deadhead, and where one is willing to go and willingness to tarp.
So many large cars and big houses come over here thinking weight shouldn't matter. Yes I have a slightly larger truck but it does cut me out of some loads. But I do go to the east coast, carry several tarps, carry ramps, and work the board very hard for best loads.
I wish Mercer would work for all since they have so much freight given away.
Mercer is hurting for drivers to Calif since so many of us can't or won't go out there anymore. Sorry but I think Calif. deserves to handle their own freight or pay alot more in rates.

 

I know I have only 1 or 2 loads I have had wait on, maybe it is because I think I have tarped all but 2 loads since I started. Not trying to bragg, but I am running hard right now. I might wait if I am in a bad area, but if it either pays well or low deadhead I take it, tarp it and go.

 

Exactly. Be willing to do what others won't. Tarp, Twic, Hazmat, stay cold. = get paid well.
Also I did count on more freight choice in California after Jan 1. I met 2 other Mercer loading at the same place. They said thats it for them. No more Cali Gotta be out by midnight.

 

Mercer turn over rate is 33%. Which is low. The industry is at least 70%.

Honestly I can make it work. I came from the worst of the worst 90% turn over and still had multiple trucks and still turned a profit. Yea I wasn't always a truck driver which is irrelevant unless you want to go there. Just stop posting half truths and you will probably stay off my radar. It's not anyone's fault here that you failed. You remind me of a guy I know. He wants to come to Mercer but I won't give him the help he needs and I'll tell ya why.
When something goes wrong, nothing it is ever his fault. He has been in the business 15 years too. I met him at the same company as me 2 months as a truck driver. He was broke then, he is broke now, and he would be broke if I brought him in here.

I think you're just working way to hard and I know I didn't have any part in advising hard work.
