I have filtered my choices down to the following: C1 in Indianapolis, IN or FTA in Ashboro, NC for CDL school and either PAM or USA Truck for employ.

For anyone, out there... I did check out Roehl. From what I surmise: the school is in Wisconsin. Cost is $2,800, which is considerable less than others, but you must pay transportation to/at/from, about $400 for your hotel, all permit & license fees, and food. They give option of paying all, up front, then IF you work for Roehl, you get reimbursement credits per # of miles driven. The school, itself, seems impressive for a student who really wants to know more before getting out there on their own! 4 weeks w/ about 10 more hours classroom time that other schools. Roehl OTR training is not set on time schedule as much as by miles driven, so, if trainer takes home-time or have lot of layovers, OTR training could drag on...I couldn't find actual way to apply as a CDL student and no URL for the school, itself. They are hiring Flatbed drivers out of Florida, but nearest drop yard is Atlanta.

Oh...forgot-can also get "loan" from Roehl for school. Notice wording-"loan" not "sponsorship". Couldn't find detailed terms or designated site for application for loan.

Cargo, you're not hearing what you're being told. Roehl is a good company with good equipment where you can make a living wage or better. The companies you're comparing are NOT the same. Nor is their training. There are a lot more cesspools out there than than good companies to drive for when you're starting out. Roehl is one of the good ones. You were told your filter is wrong--it is.

There's more to ANYTHING you buy than the sticker price. The lower stickers are stuck on hooks and you will likely get stuck there big time. FYI. Sad but true commentary about trucking for newbies.

Conway Truckload has been the best overall option for Floridians. Assuming you have failed to qualify for the grants at the State schools.

Not only does your filter need changing, it's already severely clogged with "dirt". Sad, but true.
Yes, many students do screw up and blame companies, however you need to ask yourself why do those companies have >90% turnover, while better companies have minimal turnover. That's only the red flag at the tip of the iceberg.

I had every test passed before the first day of school and would strongly suggest doing that.
