Steepest grade you ever pulled or went down.....

    The old "Fancy Gap" , Hwy 52 south from Va. into NC....not no where as steep as what other folks have had to negotiate...but steep enough for me!

    That's what we call Expert terrain or black diamond trail rating in Alpine skiing. Only the best skiers could survive going down that incline. Ok sure you could drive down that.........only once. Thanks Tony. 65%=37 deg.

    Non drivers. I took a 300" wheelbase Freightliner, pulling a 48' spread over that pass with no problems.

    I once went down a pass we had to pound in pitons and rig ropes to keep traction on the overhanging parts. :biggrin_25514:

    Nah... it was a cross between rappeling and glissading. But that was just the downhill part. We shoveled the uphill part to make it level, then installed a jacuzzi at the summit so we could smell all nice 'n pretty for our on time delivery at Nieman Marcus. :-D
