I had their service department (PHX) ignore me as well. I was an a-hole and went to the safety director (PHX). He did same, ignored me. Asked him if he would like me to take it the nearest DOT inspection office (1.5 mile away). Had truck in shop 5 minutes later. Had new tires on truck in 30 min.
I used to run a service department. I don't put up with the BS that they dish-out.
Do not work for knight transportation!!!

I always loved how steel chords in the steers was a fire-able offense and then getting new steers was like pulling teeth...on an unrestrained bull. Then picking up your "do this for an MT" freebie load and discovering it had a flat. Well two hours until my appointment and 30 miles away...no problem. Yea right....took them three hours to get to it. Seems like a load like that would be a priority, get it in, get it out, and get it to the customer. You would think.....

I hated; how steel chords in the steers was a fire-able offense and then getting new steers was like pulling teeth...on an unrestrained bull; just as much.
I never did "freebie loads", everything I did I got paid for.
Including local LA/Fontana work. -
I was ALWAYS promised pay. ALWAYS had to ask them two or three times where my money was and then finally got it but never what they originally promised.
-
First time I did local work for them i got pay runaround as well. Call HR in PHX to quash said prob.
Result, my then dispatcher got reported and I always got paid on-time there after.
Again, I was an a-hole but I got paid for the work I did. -
The serv. mgr at phx is a royal flush ahole with major attitude and he hates drivers. Knight suuuuuuuuuucks

Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with replacing windshield wiper blades, fuses, gladhand seals etc. or tightening loose bolts. Chances are a breakdown that would leave a person on the side of the road would involve a repair a person wouldn't have the parts or the right tools for anyways. That being said, I had a Classic XL with a Detroit Diesel, a mechanic that I guess was familiar with that particular truck before I got it said "If you ever have a problem starting it, just get down there and bang on the crank position sensor, it'll start right up" and he was right!!
kajidono Thanks this. -
Like all many companies they offer all you can eat and before you take a bite they take a crap onbyour plate. Running area pay nice trucks whatever you need baby we got it! Just hold ya nose before you take a bite. I heard they mess with ya money too and so I will leave them alone. They can ripp my app up.

Ok, a little advice for Knights. Before you do ANYTHING that will not pay out as normal cpm. Have your dm shoot you a (PO#) over the qc. It will show on your qc as (X-Type-po#-----) if you don't scan this with your load, you just did free work.
This goes for EVERYTHING/ANY work not on the pre plan/Dispatch info!!!
It includes, shuttle work, local hourly city work, shop time breakdown pay, layover pay, moving trailer around a yard,"favors", ANYTHING.nickempirepa and Leftnut Thank this. -
Or just don't work for them in the first place. If the company sucks, don't work there. Make em open a training division...oh wait....
