Any info good or bad about Firstfleet inc would be great. I got thru the first step now to the next one looks promising. Would like to know if company is what the recruiter said it is. Sounds almost to good to be true.

BFL it was for a regional run out of Coors in VA. .40 a mile home on at least one weekend day. run NY, NJ, ct,pa take beer up and either bring back empty cans or bottles or just run empty back. or run to NC and get a load of cans and come back to VA. Pays the same loaded or empty. I talked to one of their drivers and he had nothing but good to say about them. I was just wanting to get some other options on them. The first step was fill out app and they go over it and check your driving record, that takes a couple of days and then they send you for a drug test and physical. If you pass that they send you for road test if you pass that you got paper work and then they said they send me with a mentor for a week or two just to get to know the ropes of the company. But I will be I will be in my own truck just following another driver. they say each terminal is like their own company. That terminal is dedicated to one shipper.

    BFL123 Thanks this.

So, you're saying doing beer loads into N.Y. CT. etc and home 1 day on the weekend is "too good to be true"?

Im not saying the running lanes and home time are to go to be true. I was saying everything I hear good about the company is to good to be true. I have yet to hear a bad thing about them. There is not one company out there that has nothing bad about them. Anyway thanks for your 2 cents and no help.

I have worked for First Fleet 15 year. The way they pay is based on what account you are on this is one reason you may find drives that give you a different in pay.

First Drivers some are very nice and good drivers, but some have been told by their company no matter whom they deliver to they come first, I no this quite well, I am a Retired Truck Driver, I worked for Kroger for over twenty years, they delivered to all our stores, if you were unloading they would tell you have to move. This set well with our drivers, we are teamster drivers, their pay sucks we got for all stops, paid for how many pallets we unloaded, plus mileage, maim thing I was home every night. PS. a block for my home they have more than 15 empty new tractors, been sitting their for months, that should tell you something

this is an old thread.

I love working for First Fleet, but I can't speak for all of them, because each office is like its own small company. They run certain dedicated accounts; kroger, flowers baking, coors, paper plant, etc. It all depends on the terminal. I've worked for them a year, a regional driver, my terminal runs bread from flowers, 99% drop/hook, mostly day cab, some regional home couple times per week.
The office in the next town runs roll stock paper and cardboard boxes, mostly live loading/unloads. I ran for that terminal, and they paid differently because the paper mill would sometimes take all day to get you loaded. Day cabs, and home weekends for regional drivers on that one, with maybe a couple nights home if you were nearby as you ran out of hours. I ran for their account a couple months when they needed extra help.
And if for some reason my terminal didn't have available loads for me that week, they'd send me on broker loads, and I'd run like any other OTR driver and get to see the country, just random shippers dispatched from other companies like Landstar.
All in all, it's the perfect company for me. My family is happy to have me home so often, and still get the miles I had when I worked for Swift gone for two or more weeks.
