YEEP YEEP YAHOO!!!!!All went well!! Otter, my friend, THANK YOU for the pm... But that gate on Miami Ave. was narrower than the back gate... as I suspected... and there was absolutely no room to enter thru there... Besides, folks added cute light poles on each side of that narrow gate and the light lamps stuck inward the gate leaving even less room to enter... So, as I suspected, I entered thru the back gate... there was a little bit of shoulder and the gate was slightly wider... The other truck was already there... So, I parked right next to him...
After all volunteers arrived and more folks... they parked all vehicles on grass cause there was no room in that parking lot for everything and everybody...
We started unloading the trailers... I jumped in and helped too.... cause I don't like to sit still and it was quite fun! They had no pallet jacks and no forklift... But it took us almost one hr to unload my trailer and about 30 mins to unload other trailer....
Then media arrived and some dignitaries... I don't know who they were cause I decided to "hide" in the truck and had some snack... Then, "customers" formed a line and the boxes were distributed...
They asked me to move the truck a couple times for pictures, etc.... It was fun and not that hard... Only thing in the way was the low wires but someone had a long stick lifting those wires so trailer would not pull and break them...
Ladies took pictures with me.... and more pics... Then, they cleared the way for us to leave thru the same back gate...
Now we (the other truck and I) are at a service plaza... the same one where I took my 34 yesterday... Hopefully will leave here tomorrow when dsp is back in the office....Eaton18, truckon, teddy_bear6506 and 4 others Thank this. -
Google Earth is good/decent...but the angles and the aspects are still hard to decipher without being right there! the Miami gate appears wider on the GE pictures!
Rocks Thanks this. -
Yes... it does... I "studied" the street view pictures from various angles many times last night... -
