Well, woke this morning to a cold truck. Espar goes out. As far as I can tell, motor went out. Did ask if either T/A or KW. Was told, best bet, KW.. Looks like find a dealer and get to sit some after getting loaded. Anyone else have a issue with theirs. It shows that it is coming on but not blowing.

Explain exactly what it does when you hit the power button. Does the blower motor come on but shut down? Does it make two attempts and shut down. After it shuts down is the power still on the control unit?

Really need to know what model it is. Many have the D2 or D4 model. If you do then you should have a five button control unit. The middle button should be the off/on. Does it have a "D" on the middle button? If it does after you have the unit turned on press and hold that button down for 3-5 seconds the fault codes will display. Use the arrow keys to scroll through multiple codes. Post the codes here.

When you get a code the ECU will do a lock out to protect the unit. Pressing the two left "L" buttons at the same time will erase the code(s) and unlock the unit.

Post the codes and I can tell you what it is. If you have a different control unit you probably have a different model number. That case raise your bunk and see if you can find the model number on the unit.

Mine went out a few months ago. You'll have to remove the mattress and remove the center sheet metal to access the heater. Before you do all that you'll need a tool to remove the Glow Pin and most likely the Screen is clogged up. The Screen is $10 bucks and the only way to get the Glow Pin tool is to buy a new Glow Pin for $220 bucks (the tool is just a spark plug socket with a slot in the side to swallow the wiring) Long skinny needle nose pliers or tool tweezers to remove the Screen and most likely the old Glow Pin is still good. I would be curious to know how much a shop would charge to do the same job.

On mine it was the glow plug that ignites it. $15 part....three days to get it in the shop at Swift of course. :biggrin_2552:

Fuel pump ran, fan blew, but it didn't ignite. Doubt this helps but thought I'd relate my experience.

You don't need the tool. If you take the espar out you can simply use a wrench.

Yeah most likely it's the screen filter, glow pin, flame sensor or the fuel pump. The fault code will help narrow it down. If the fault codes show 000 then it should be the screen filter. The rest will throw a code.

You can go to an auto parts store and buy an O2 sensor socket for a car to remove the glow plug. Same tool. Cost about $8-$15. The standard size is 7/8" so make sure first. They do have other sizes.

Thanks everyone. found the problem. I got siphoned last night, almost bone dry. Topped of one tank with fuel, now working great. But I will keep this topic in case of problems again.

Thanks. This so called human being even went as far as cutting the small chain from the fuel cap to the anti siphon tube. The only truck parked on that side of me last night, a L/O from KLLM. There was a nice hit on my check this week that I was not looking forward to.
