Any owner or Co driver out there who are happy with their 2013 or 2014 semi tractor driving over the road or regional?
We all know the headaches related to dpf,def,egr... that usually come with them or not any more?
Did they finally work out the glitches?
Tell us what you drive, fuel economy, how long you stayed out of the shop, etc.
Brag about your new shiny truck plz

I've got a 2013 Volvo with a Volvo D13 engine. Been in it about 1 yr and I'm pretty happy with it so far. I run 95% east of the Mississippi and most of my loads are 42k+. My fuel economy is about 7.3 mpg. I could do better, but I run wide open most of the time (and by wide open I mean 68 mph, which is what my co truck is governed at). The only problem I've had with it so far is a broken alternator/AC belt caused by a defective idler pulley. It was replaced under warranty. No dpf or egr issues yet.
before this, I was in a 2011 KW with a Cummins. It was constantly in the shop for dpf issues. I like the Volvo engine better, but the KW was nicer and more comfy in the interior and bunk.DrivingForceBehindYou Thanks this. -
2014 Cascadia with Cummins - 125,000 so far, no issues.
2011 ". ". with Detroit - 400,000 and was in the shop 8 times for injectors and injector harness. Left it in Phoenix and cursed its name.DrivingForceBehindYou Thanks this. -
2014 Cascadia - love all the cabinets inside. Had a 2013 before this.

Probably both would be my guess!

2014 cascadia with isx. Brand new, clamp on the intake hose where it meets the manifold was loose and put on crooked. Lots of boost leak. Fixed at fuel island with basic tools. DPF light comes up on the dash once in a while then goes away. Under 6 mpg pulling flatbeds at 65. I love driving new trucks but wouldn't want to own one that's for sure. I think SCR is a huge improvement over epa07 egr but would still buy a pre egr truck or glider.

2013 386 Pete with a Cummings. First few weeks it wouldnt regen.
Issue fixed. No other problemsDrivingForceBehindYou Thanks this. -
2015 KW W900, ISX Cummins 550hp, 18 speed, 60" sleeper, tri-axle, no issues so far but only had for 1 week. Most of my loads are all 110k or over with 4 axle RGN.
Before that we had a 06 Western Star with a C13 and day cab that stayed in the shop most of the time. Plus a hotel room that had truck parking was getting hard to find unless it was a dump.Last edited: Jan 26, 2014
