Reefer and APU noise help put me to sleep too. Why did you pick a Carrier to record, instead of a TK? I will admit, TK reefers and APUs seem to be quieter than Carriers.

I don't know, I was always putting my truck on high idle, since the company I worked for had a complete disregard for my comfort and the truck would shut off after 5 minutes of idling regardless of temperature. So I couldn't hear a meteor hitting the earth let alone your reefer unit LOL
-
I had my unit shut off a couple of weeks ago, it was at a Tyson in Arkansas ,
Peculiar part of it is the truck parked next to me and gone when I woke up
had the same co. name on it as mine has...
I try to park away from other trucks or next to other reefers when I can .
I had a unit not long ago that was SO loud I figured sure someone would set it on fire ,
man I was glad to drop that one .TriPac Dude Thanks this. -
That's funny- you thought somebody would set it on fire! Let me guess, it was probably a rattletrap Carrier of some kind?

myths and legends thread right? Is drop and hook really a myth? Is Thermo King the cream of the crop? Are Lumpers friendly? Do Grocery warehouses and shippers allow parking for your break? Can you trust shipper's scales?
-
Thermo King is absolutely the best, no questions about it. Their reefers and APUs work better and are quieter than anybody else's! Go Thermo King!
-
APUs are so prevalent anymore these days, does it matter?

You get used to the reefer sound but the thing that really annoys me is when it first cuts on and shakes my whole truck. If I leave it on continuous mode (rare) I don't even hear it running anymore since I am so used to it. Kinda like leaving a heater on for a long time after a while you don't even hear it until it cuts off and it is dead silence.

Guess you're the president of the TK Fan Club?
