They all come swarming into the US demanding citizenship, free this, free that, handouts. Time to shut down the broders, put INS and armed guards in place. Look at all the problems they caused us when our trucks were going into their country. Hijackings, shootings, god knows what else. Now their trucking industry is trying to sue the US. I say we hang a sign on the door of this country..

I did things 100% legal - cost me thousands, and years.
I'm with you.
Especially after that tariff retaliation debacle. The cheek of them.Truckinchic Thanks this. -
Did anyone read the article?
They are suing because 30,000 were denied access. -
If they aren't compliant isn't our problem. There's all kinds of warehouses cross docking and relaying at the border going both ways. It's not like they are losing out. Haul a load of peppers up to the border and a load of Freightliner parts back. What's the problem?

Canada has no problem with respecting our regulations.
Three billion? That's $100,000 a driver. Our own driver's didn't get but $10 when they sued HireRight.truckerdave1970, Truckinchic, pattyj and 1 other person Thank this. -
Right on Condo Cruiser..your the best.CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
My comment was addressed because the previous posts were dwelling on immigration and not the article.CondoCruiser, joseph1135 and Dewey120 Thank this.

Honestly they go together. Every load hauled within our borders by somebody who isn't a citizen is a load that an American driver is missing out on. Sick of this "we are the world" bs. Take care of our own and F the lot of them.
bubbanbrenda, old and broken, truckerdave1970 and 2 others Thank this. -
I do not see it that way. You went to Canada, so you did not immigrate there, so it is not the same.
I am getting to the point that the freight should be hauled to points on the border and then the other country comes and gets it.truckerdave1970 and old and broken Thank this. -
This is of course pure politics coming from what is effectively a narco-state. Keeps the troops happy ( hey Jose, did ya see the article today in the Montezuma Daily Intelegencia? We are going to show them...) but nothing will happen.

Isn't this a safety issue? Anyone driving in the United States has to comply with FMCSA regulations don't they?
391.11 (b) Except as provided in subpart G of this part, a person is qualified to drive a motor vehicle if he/she
(2) Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records;
I'm not saying that this is the case for all 30 thousand but I'd be willing to bet that it is for some. I would imagine that those who got turned away, got turned away for a reason, noncompliance of FMCSA regulations.
As the article stated it's more of a political issue than anything elseold and broken Thanks this.
