Went to a interview today for a team position. Thought I'd share the info for those in the future.
Highest pay scale for teams is $27.63 an hour & for new drivers is $24.30 an hour. New drivers are paid 88% of what the top scale is then it goes up 4% every year until you reach the top of the pay scale.
The way they calculate the pay is:
(Miles / 50 mph) * $ per hour

That's not bad at all duh, it's a decent company and they say the grass is always greener on their side lol.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
My wife and I looked at them several times but they were never hiring teams in our area when we were looking..
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Good company. They will get their moneys worth out of you.Just saying, you Will Be A Road Warrior. Great pay though .

We're looking for weekly hometime. Problem is most companies think getting drivers home long enough to do a reset is sufficient.

Tow, we had trouble getting an interview but what worked was filling out a paper application & faxing it to the corporate office. Teams are hired & dispatched from the corporate office in Wilmington, OH. The hiring manager is Ralph Holstein, when you call in....you will get his assistant. She will make sure your called in for a interview at the local terminal.
They want us to run 'wild' which means go wherever they need us to.
Is this a good place to work ? -
That's an interesting way of compensation.
I did the math for comparison with these guys and its not too far off. Certainly rewards effort - faster you get done, more you get paid ( in essence ).
Any accessory pay. How is the benefits?TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Forgot to ask about accessory pay.
Benefits were good.
The guy we interviewed with thinks we would be doing two runs to Salt Lake City & one wherever they need us then back home. Doing the math, that seems like we would make less $1,000 gross & they might not let us be home for two full days. At US Xpress, we're making $1,000 to $1,600. The manager said he would need to speak with corporate further then we plan on sitting down with him again to get a better idea if this place will be a good fit for us.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I don't know much about driving for them but I don't think you will get the weekly hometime you are looking for. My experience with them was when I had my business in tennessee. I used them as my preferred carrier because of their reliability.
They have condos in east tennessee and florida for employees to use for vacation for free.
my wife no longer drives and I currently am happy with my new job.
good luck to you but I thought you guys were going with old dominion . What happened with that?blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
We were going with OD but my wife wasn't able to get a one year medical card. She got a two year after working on her BMI but OD said they weren't hiring teams right now.
