Fort Smith, AR
finished up this target load. My co-driver is taking over and heading to ConAgra in Russellville, AR for a back haul to the DC in Texas.
They certainly give us plenty of miles with this account and they appreciate our hard work. I guess we were one of the very few trucks still running during that ice storm that hit us. The roads got mostly cleared shortly after the nasty stuf stopped coming down and as long as we took it slow we were safe and sound. They seemed very appreciative of us taking some of those loads. And we are now playing catch up from all the loads that were rescheduled and they are keeping us very busy. -
I'll say one thing about team driving, when the weather gets poor we're more inclined to keep moving even at greatly reduced speeds. If I'm solo I try to conserve precious hours and shut down if I have to slow down too much, but with a team we are resetting each week after a coast to coast run with about 15 hours apiece left on our 70, so burning some hours to get through a couple hundred miles of bad roads is more of a "go" but slow situation.
Right now I'm in the sleeper berth on the 54 in southern Kansas. Just hit a Walmart to restock. Headed to our delivery in Secaucus, NJ then grab a load back to LA. Right now a band of snow and freezing rain is following us, just spitting a bit now and then. The roads are still bare and dry. I'll be taking over for the night shift somewhere close to Wichita. -
Picked up a brand new 2015 trailer today, waiting for my first load out to Texas yeehaw.

Yeah, while I was solo I had to shut down a couple times because I could only go 30mph safely and that is just burning hours, but driving team if I run out of time on my clock my co-driver can just take over so we can keep trucking at 30 mph it just takes a long time to get there.

Lancaster terminal. Said that I might be here almost 1 week before can get the truck done. If that happens, guess that I will be making a phone call and getting a payment deferred. From what they were telling me, only shops that have a Cummins person or Cummins themselves can do this recall. Turns out something to do with the fuel pump. At least here they have 2 Cummins mechs now but there are at least 7 other trucks ahead of me for the same recall. If have to sit, will be pulling out the CC and heading for the hotel.

How long can it take to change a fuel pump?

Pilot in Van Horn, TX. Gotta be in Dallas tomorrow night for a 23:15 live unload then over to Lancaster term to wait for next plan.
