Popcorn depends which comp you lease on to some sell their trucks direct and i think all divisions also have an option to go to arrow and pick out a truck......each companies contracts are also a little diffrent so i gather talking to drivers in other companies within the evergrowing rr web

I got an Arrow truck and went with A&A Express. A&A also has a deal where they are leasing their company 660 Kenworths.

They have EFS fuel cards and discounts. $250 available a week for advance. I can tell you percentage but it always depends on rate. I am making $1.45 a mile for all miles on average. Some longer deadheads have pulled that done some.

While at Orientation talked to the whole office. They have maybe 15-20 people running a 260 truck fleet. Could not find a driver that had a bad word to say. After two weeks I don't either.

Which company do you pull for bigdad7? Mine is a learning curve. My deadhead miles are pulling my over all mileage down. Once I figure out where I need to be to get the best/closest load I should be up around the $1.70. But right now I am still learning the system.

I checked out all the divisions of Roadrunner and then narrowed it down to A&A or Bruenger. Both have the same small company everybody knows everybody feel but I went with A&A because the former owner and current operating officer got one the phone with me when I asked questions that he recruiting department couldn't answer.

Every one of these companies operates like a separate company and have their own people that can answer questions. The Roadrunner recruiter is you first contact but don't be afraid to google the phone numbers for the people you want to talk to and call them direct.

Same here at bruenger there is a wide variety of lanes some pay good some can hurt you there is no one babysitting you or holding your hand but ihave got a good feel for what lanes i like not that you cant sit with the guys that book freight and get a good feel for what rates they are getting back from areas......the driver i talked to at a a said their long term plan is to combine all the refer outfits into one banner and haul r.r ltl freight as backhauls sounds ambitious but we shall see

Tobytob, I can't wait to get in the game. I'll be retiring in 3yrs , so i'm learning all i can about becoming a successful O/O... I know I must get my experience with the starter carriers..O/O is my objective, R/R or Landstar seem to be the best fit for me.... Todytob, I'm sure I can learn much from you, so if it's cool I will be keeping in touch......Stay safe & God bless.
