When I was leased to RRTS in 2009 -2010 there was never a " good" time... unless you call 1.12 a mile overall average and 95% of broker loads denied due to "credit". Nearly starved to death while trying to make connections in the terminals but management always acted as if they had never seen me before.

Ghostzapper951, I appreciate the compliments, but I don't claim to know it all. I just know what worked for me. Here's a word of advice, If you can afford it, get your own authority and go that route. I'm finding that leasing to a carrier is not the thing for me. While things were great here at RRTS, lately it been pitiful. I won't go into details just yet, but Being an O/O is challenging at time but very gratifying! Best of luck!!!

What's going on Tobytob? When I went to the terminal to pick up my load, they gave me an EFS card to replace the Comdata. I registered it and called to check the balance, a big fat $0 lol. Freaked out for a minute then called the Comdata card that's where they put the money PHEW!

Getting ready to do my 4th load, no problems and agents calling me daily to ask me where I want to go and how much do I want to be paid. So far so good.

####, I'm with them now and I pulling my hair out. when you broke something out they take a bunch of it off. 3 weeks ago I booked a 2 bucks a mile from their own broker, Road runner toke 254 dollars out of that to teach me a lesson. I haven't talk to any driver that's currently with them that can give me a positive answer, none.

I am with R/M now, great bunch of folks there and if you want to run the miles are there, right now they really need CA drivers, most here want to go to the SE which doesn't pay as well, but if you run southern Cali you will do great. If you lease go with the Arrow trucks.

If your magic number is $2 bucks a mile, just divide it by 92% which is your cut from 100% of the load's revenue. So $2/.92= $2.18 is the true magic number to tell the broker.

Positive answer?-- Landstar driver with his own dry van has to ask for $2.77 a mile to get his $2buck chuck mile pay as his magic % is at 72% with his own trailer.

Positive answer #2, knowing there are guys asking for $2.77 a mile might mean you can aim a lot higher than $2 and increase your revenue even after RR's cut.
